Banksy - No Ball Games (GREEN), by darrenrapley on Dec 17, 2009 14:43:50 GMT 1, What's your view Silky - would you rather have as many folk as possible on here or limit it by some kind of invite/waiting period so as to avoid the flippers getting early wind of releases. Or would the latter just mean that another forum would start up?
I know that whatever you say will be argued by forum members but was just interested.

POW gave very little info in fact. People were queuing on the off chance and as POW had not said anything to the people in the queue I took this as a green light for the release the next day.

I would agree with you to a point, since Dora is always more than helpful and quick to respond. However i am assuming that most of the "new members" that are getting on here to try and score are not in the UKers they will be from the states where banksy has been making a splash and in that case they would only need a POW email to find out the score.

Banksy - No Ball Games (GREEN), by bullet on Dec 17, 2009 15:14:45 GMT 1, i guess there is a legal issue here. they would get in trouble for making you stand in line over night, therefore its your decision to do so. Rather than saying its on sale from 9am with tickets handed out at 6am which would cause a panic.
Its the people that get down there early that are the problem IMO, blame the bluddy person in the tent at the front who had been there for 2 days.

Its about sharing information and letting people know about whats going on in the world of art. Why limit the people who can read that info? I can see the reasons why some would like print releases and such to be kept as secret as possible that might be good for them personally but is it good for the Artist? I don't think so
Anyway each to their own

Just to make sure i went there on Thursday and had a chat with a guy fixing some Date farmers stuff to the wall, He said the same thing"10am Saturday drop in store. If you went there and asked, this is what you would of be told.

Banksy - No Ball Games (GREEN), by Richard on Dec 17, 2009 17:24:59 GMT 1, From POW: "All prints have found owners and no more emails will be sent out."So there you go.
Should read:
"All prints have found people who will be selling them on eBay and no more emails will be sent out."
It really is a farse - I would rather POW sell them for a realistic price with money going to charity rather than lining a flippers pocket...surely that would be what Banksy would want as well?

Not selling mine, so at least one print found a permanent home.

I am not pissed off as I do not like the image - I just think when there are now over 50 of the 250 sold on eBay (with many sellers with 2) then something is wrong...
I am very happy for all those that got it and will keep it, enjoy it!

Banksy - No Ball Games (GREEN), by howlinhooker on Dec 17, 2009 17:34:54 GMT 1, Think this last 7 days or so has been just about the busiest on the forum for 2009. 10,885 unique visitors in the last seven days 40,637 visits 342,175 pageviews. So thats a possible ten thousand plus who could have been looking to buy the new Banksy prints from POW this week. Thats not necessarily a good thing. In fact I'd go so far to ask why so many people only crawl out of the woodwork when there is money to be made? 100% correct..............money grabbin bas***** thats why so many on flea bay !!!

Farse....moan.....moan....speculate...moan.
would people stop fucking moaning sooooo boring and reeks of jealousy!
if pow sold at market price people would moan that it isn't available to the masses. they've tried to compromise ffs! instore release, if you want one you queue and get it, lotto release coz everyone wanted this and to please people on the other side of the pond. nothing would suprise me if they release them on the site too to help please the rest of the moaning fuckers who aren't already satisfied they've tried every other release method!
if you didn't get one and want it sooo badly go to ebay and buy one at 'true market value!'
I bought one in the queue and paid the 450 i am happy with. if it was sold at 1000+ i prob wouldn't have been able to afford it just now with the framing costs on top. as it is it's getting framed and will be on the wall at new year. You win some and you lose some just get over it, i have!

Well done for all those who wont he lottery, well done for those who queued up all night to get one.
If you 'paid' someone to queue on your behalf - shame on you, is this modern day slavery?
I didn't get one, not bothered - the world keeps turning. Jboy should be given deletion rights, would help his own cause....!

Banksy - No Ball Games (GREEN), by boatboy on Dec 17, 2009 17:52:51 GMT 1, It's been a bit of a farce. Seeing all these print's making triple the price on ebay is to be expected. Surely Banksy should be getting the profit instead of the flippers. Not one of his best either by a long shot. GET RID OF THE LOTTO POW, it's rubbish.

Banksy - No Ball Games (GREEN), by snausages on Dec 17, 2009 18:01:33 GMT 1, Why don't you wait until people get these in hand and ebay is flooded and then look. Think this is a first that it's taken so long for the green to appear on ebay. What's going on? Where are the morons trying to flip a print they don't even have yet? Something strange afoot.

It's a bit of a relief now that it's all over to be honest. The same as most Banksy releases.
Nothing changes. It's always going to be a case of the haves and have nots when it comes to the latest Banksy release. If you get one then you think it's a great way to release them and if you don't then it isn't.
I think the way the lottery was handled was a bit pish and I'm a bit miffed that I didn't know how the grey release was going to be handled as some others did (not like POW to give anything away to be honest).
On that basis then you can guess which camp I am in. But then hopefully my luck will be in with the next one and I'll think the release method was great.
Who knows, perhaps you'd feel the same if you hadn't moved down to London this year.
