Banksy Happy Chopper Print, by foundation on Aug 1, 2006 2:35:51 GMT 1, Picked up a signed HC from Laz's, just before the price increase, the 1200+vat ( about 1400) doesn't look too bad already, it is a stunning print. The QV is another blinder lesroy. I am not sure what it is about the banksy prints with a coloured background ( HC, J&J, CwS, QV, Love is, BME, WSM, HMV.. etc) that make them some much more outstanding than the paler prints ( GWB, Barcode, CND, rats). I started off hanging the paler ones and have, over time replaced them with the coloured ones, through no concious decision, just realised it tonight. Please Mr Banksy, can we have more?

I thought that this was the happy forum where nobody talked about money and prices and the value of their collection, this forum was stricktly for the appreciation of Banksy's Art... I seem to remember having this made VERY clear 2 months ago... HMMMM things have indeed changed somewhat.. 
Not aimed at you Nu, just the whole tone on the forum over the last few weeks, it seems its not about the art for as many members as it once was..
And congrats on your HC, I thought you were giving up the whole Banksy collecting thing, getting rid of prints you didn't like and getting into more street work? Getting abit cold over there now for the same exposure time? HC and RC in a couple of weeks, not a cheap haul my friend.

Yes, but I suppose that's a combination of the new prints being released and there now being a lot more members than there were a few months ago. Over 1800 now! 
I also hate the way it seems to be all about the money now  I console myself with the thought that the greedheads may jump off the Banksy Bandwagon when someone else becomes more trendy to like.
Anyway, to restore your faith in humanity... you might remember me having to sadly part with my Flying Copper a short while back. I sold him for exactly the same price as I paid for him a year and a bit ago. And I know that if ever I see him again it won't be on bloody ebay ;D

Very comendable GM, about the same reason I am looking to swap for the sonic rat print, i would rather get 3 or 4 prints into circulation for the one I really want rather than fuel the ebay fires by selling the same prints and buying one. Its funny though, the ebay forum seems much less money orientated now, alot more BS and other artists, very little banksy chat, that whole banksy chat / cash chat seems to have integrated over here, as was mentioned though, its a forum and therefore all opinions and topics are valid ( within reason / sensorship )

ahh, indeed this is a happy little forum, generally with swaps, info and banter on everything Banksy and horse related. But with no new street work recently and a rash of prints on the horizon, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the forum will has been dominated by Trolley Hunters looking for Applause until the Sale Ends .
Regarding the HC and RC.. sold four prints these past few weeks and bought 2, plus 3 nerw canvas bits from people lower down the food chain than Mr B. So don't be surprised to see a few more bits hitting the bay. There are some key favourite Banksy's that i'll never let go of, and a couple I'd still like. The hunt continues... ;D
