Os Gemeos show in NY, by Deleted on Jul 28, 2008 16:18:23 GMT 1, Ah! you are into the container loads thing so fair play, i do know what you mean though and being honest most if not all problems i have encountered have been down to the shipper and not the galleries, having said that i only ever imported one or maybe two pieces of Design furniture in a crate each at any one time.

Os Gemeos show in NY, by ricosg11 on Jul 28, 2008 16:25:09 GMT 1, ricosg11 ..can you open up on your 'stellar service' at all with Deitch?
Sure. I credit them with my conversion from a casual print collector to an informed, passionate person with an immense appreciation for art. I bought my first expensive original from the a couple of years ago. A piece that taught me what the difference between living with art and simply owning a piece is. It is a feeling I didnt understand until I experienced it. After that first purchase I was seeking out a particular work by the same artist. It was an older work and one of the harder to find pieces. Well, about a week after I expressed interest they called me to say they had three different variations for me to choose from. To me that is great service. I have dealt with the same woman there throughout and cant use enough superlatives to describe her. She is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I dont have delusions of grandeur. These guys rep the Haring and Basquiat estates. In the grand scheme im a nobody, but they treated me like I was a top client. That is something I will never forget and will always be grateful for. So while I can appreciate the frustration discussed in the thread by others, it couldnt be further from my personal experience.
Ill also add, I like the fact that Jeffrey is super selective of buyers and protective of the work. Its nice to see a gallery to prefer to sit on work than flog it to any tom, dick or harry. Call me crazy.

Peres Projects has treated me in very much the same way, I love their staff and I trust Javier's judgement.
