Those pics (for me) really bring home what I've read anfd heard about that particular Grotto. It must have been truly amazing to be in Bethlehem and experience the whole collective feeling. I'm sure all of us on here would be like little kids in a sweet shop if we had the chance to be there! Thanks r@t and all the very best with the sale rob.

It sold at the first Dreweatts urban art auction for ยฃ13,000 but I had a reserve of ยฃ15,000 on it. Dreweatts seemed to forget this and made the ยฃ2000 up to the reserve price after the auction...unless it was all a part of the same watchtower dream ;D ;D |

I was just asking- that is all  for reasons I shall now explain...
I still have my bid sheet with the amount from bethlehem.. and I know what I was told regarding the final bid price of it as I enquired when i picked mine up as to how much I had been outbid by on the insect piece - it was one of my other favorites that I saw out there.
The winning bidder pulled out of the purchase , and that was when POW offered it to you at significantly less than the original winning bid was for (right place, right time for you - as you say, you were picking something else up- result!)
The original high bidder used to post on this forum but no longer does- I still have the PMs in my inbox regarding his purchase and pulling out.
My query to you was simply because the amount you paid was a lot less than the original winning bid amount- nothing more. I had no idea they let it go for that much less- i figured that they offered it to the next highest bidder, and so on.
Anyway...you sold it on ebay within 3 weeks of picking it up, so it doesn't really matter does it ?
At least these posts are giving Rob bumpage of his for sale thread
