Just been down today in fact, lovely work, lots of hidden detail you only notice really up-close. Just a pity there weren't more prints on sale, really wanted to expand my collection, hopefully he'll turn some of the canvases down there into prints in the future. I recommend everyone in Bristol who's to have a peep, oh yeah and there are some cracking Ian Francis and Guy Denning prints available.

Even if his work's not for you - you have to give the lad credit for not getting too far ahead of himself so early in his career.
Pyrites, astrophytum and delphina were the pick of the bunch this time for me. Pyrites especially - love the detail of the figures coming out from the head.

I'm pretty big on Russ Mills. I think despite his mismanaged print release through Red Propeller, he's a poor man's Ian Francis. "Incendiary Fuzz" and "Aeonium" go for a ton already and he's received zero publicity from notorious taste maker blogs (Posterdistrict.com)
He's a risky to be betting on since he is far from established, but at 25 quid, you really can't go too wrong.
My fav four: "Astrophytum" "Polaskia" "Delphinia" and strangely enough, love "Mondo Rococo" I don't really love his horse stuff - but that's just a personal thing.
I'm happy he's once again doing female form prints. I thought this was his best stuff and counter balances his odd sense of the grotesque.
Now I'm wondering which will be the first to sell out, or if I'm going to end up looking like an idiot when Russ Mills prints sit for a month unsold - though I'm actually shocked Russ went back to his low edition, low price roots. I frankly think he should have released less for more. Perhaps half the number of prints (6 vs. 12) at ยฃ50.00 would have been a better price point.
Nevertheless, this is a long term gamble, similar to Nick Walker 'Knickers' for ยฃ60.00 & Shepard Fairey's Obama Progress for $30...
I'm going to bed now. I've had a $1,500 UK art shopping binge in these wee hours. God this has been a busy October!
