i'm sure everyone on here would agree that it's very cool that Banksy hooked some people up with a gift like this, but that doesn't mean we can't comment on the image itself.

New Banksy Print...And You Missed It!!!, by Wearology on Jun 25, 2008 23:10:21 GMT 1, on the third day of the cans festival (monday) a few of these gifts (approximately 4 of them) were placed on e-bay for a very short period of time - they were pulled within the first few hours - the person trying to sell them I think actually went on our forum and tried to see if there were any takers here and to see the reaction from those in the know - I am not good at computers but if anyone is interested they could definitely get to the bottom of this mystery - I will check my e-bay bidding history because I was one of the guys that placed a bid and than later got an e-mail from e-bay saying the product was no longer available - as for the re-sale value people will definitely shell out top coin and roll the dice that they are genuine -

Great gift imo and is all the better for being that image as it was the "official" cans image it makes it more personal and more of a momento to the people that contributed

However, as a Banksy image, if this were a print edition of say 150 signed and 500 unsigned and I were looking to buy a Banksy print, it would not be on my radar with all the superb images already on the market. I would in fact rate is as being amongst my least favourites. Totally hypathetical of course.

Exactly -- thats what I dont get. It's not like Banksy to do a Giclee print, which is the only way you could print this image. It's clearly not screenprinted. judging by the picture. So that definately makes me feel a little suspicious about it. But then again, maybe I am wrong.
I'm going to ask a certain someone and see if they are real..... I will let you know.

It would take about 15-20 plates to create this print as a serigraph.

Yes they are VERY real, doubt they will pop up for sale though, everyone of them is dedicated.

i cant believe people are trying judging the merit of the image, as a thank you for working at the CF its perfect, it was after all the official logo for the whole event.
ve seen one in the flesh and theyre a very nice and generous gesture.

The image is so heavily associated with Cans that I think there could have been no better image to thank those who helped contribute. I am very envious...would love to see some more of these if any lucky people here have them

Very nice gesture by the man who not only paid for flights, hotels, transport for all the artists but then sends them a gift. They are quite small though. About 8" x 6" and I doubt if any will come up on the open market as they are all dedicated to the recipient.
