WRONG AGAIN:
'AM: Of course you used the image of the punk queen for the electronic G20 billboards.
DF: Yeah, the queen came back into it because of those billboards. Like I said, I wasnโt going to use the queen again, but it became so apparent that I should. It was the G20 summit, the queenโs head on a ยฃ20 noteโฆ That idea was about all these anarchists that were going to descend on London, and all the media were just hyping the shit out of it, saying that London was going to be shut down, and it was shut down. Spittlefield Market which is on every Thursday just wasnโt on. I spoke to some of the market stall holders the next week and they said they werenโt allowed to set up because they thought there was going to be rioting going on, but it was like fucking miles away from where we are talking about! Whose idea was that? It was ridiculous. So again, that is what we are fed by the press. If you went down there and saw what was actually going on, there was this little circle of hardcore anarchists, then outside that was a ring of spectators, and outside them was a ring of press. 10% anarchists and 90% spectators and press. That again was really interesting to me, with what youโre being told and fed, and then when you see the pictures the next day in the newspaper โ like some guy throwing a fucking chair through a window โ but everyone was waiting for something to happenโฆ'

DFace - New York - 12th Sept - 10th Oct, by Wearology on Sept 14, 2009 14:31:35 GMT 1, I HAVE AN EXTRA PUNK QUEEN AVAILABLE - I purchased a Punk Queen on behalf of a fellow forum member who was able to get the print from an alternative source. With that said I already own 1 that is going on my wall and I certainly don't need 2. I have no interest in flipping the print for a quick financial gain so I am open to trades. Thanks -

Notwithstanding your outstanding contribution to this thread (which is commendable), do you mean that you are open to trades for something that now has a market value of $350 as surely otherwise this is a blatant synthetic flip?
You could always give it back to the gallery so someone on their waiting list could be given right to buy.

DFace - New York - 12th Sept - 10th Oct, by Wearology on Sept 14, 2009 21:04:47 GMT 1, A blatant flip is to buy a piece of art with the sole purpose of selling it on EBAY for profit A blatant flip is to buy a piece of art and put it up for sale on a forum and solicit offers above cost - A blatant flip is to buy something with the sole purpose to financially gain from it by any means necessary - What is not a blatant flip is to go to an art show in New York City in a storm on a Friday night pay for parking for $34.00 X 3 , gas $20.00 X 2 lay out over $2,000 for complete strangers who live across the world that and also happens to feature an artist I don't even follow. What is not a blatant flip is to be successful in negotiating behind the scenes on behalf of many forum members so they could buy a print at cost via the telephone and was able to arrange the sale of 7 of the 50 prints that were offered to the public. What is not a blatant flip is to send out stickers and postcards to another 40 complete strangers across the world and not even ask for postage. I went back to the show Saturday morning and than went back to the show Saturday night also in a terrible storm all with the intention of purchasing art for forum members. By you even insinuating that I am flipper VERALYNN is pathetic and if I wasn't an assistant moderator I would tell you how I actually feel. For your information I not only laid out $2,000 on behalf of forum members I spent another $200 on postage. I might be a lot of things but a flipper is not one of them. I expect a public apology from VERALYNN.

DFace - New York - 12th Sept - 10th Oct, by veralynn on Sept 14, 2009 21:39:16 GMT 1, Is this cyber bullying? - why not state what you want for it? For it seems like you expect to profit from this, either directly or indirectly.
So you've managed to 'behind the scenes' negotiate for forum members to purchase via telephone 7 of the 50 available to the general public. Great, good for you (and them). So you've sent out stickers for free, that's better than selling them as has been done before. You've bagged a few pieces from an artist that you don't even follow....
Arseassitant moderator? Bothered, Wiz is a fully paid up moderator, stripes and all...I've never read him post such ludricous commentary.
Oh yeah, and the storm was bad, ....if you're that nut deep with the gallery then you'd give the extra back to them.
Public Apology? Hell freezing over come to mind. Get off your soap box.
Terrible storm that.
