David Choe - Character Assassination - 5th Feb, by Heavyconsumer on Jan 16, 2010 21:39:29 GMT 1, (Still) Very excited about Choe's work. Not 100% convinced that there's a huge amount of progress shown on the whole, but he's just so damned good at what he does! Can't wait to see the works for this latest show.

David Choe - Character Assassination - 5th Feb, by samuraiwriter on Jan 16, 2010 21:48:46 GMT 1, He is one of my favs for sure and his "Thumbs Up" ( www.vbs.tv/watch/thumbs-up ) show is great. Now, when will we get to see "Dirty Hands" on DVD or Bluray, hell, VHS would work for me at this point. (Although I'd have to dig up a VCR.)

David Choe - Character Assassination - 5th Feb, by RPM on Jan 17, 2010 2:35:40 GMT 1, Yeah, I'm a true believer when it comes to Choe. His talent is insane. The guy can do watercolors, line drawings, massive street pieces and fine art all with tremendous success and (seemingly) very little effort. The GR Biennial museum show fully demonstrated to me that his art is absolutely meant to be viewed in that sort of grand presentation.
I would love to one day own original pieces by a lot of different artists, but Choe is the one that is at the at the top of my list. One day...

Really? I personally think his work has progressed tremendously in the span of the last 7 yrs or so I've been following him. I'm constantly surprised by the stuff he has with each new exhibition like the large red one that sold at the Grifters at Laz. Would've loved to have that one.

David Choe - Character Assassination - 5th Feb, by Grubster on Feb 4, 2010 18:06:20 GMT 1, I got the link this morning and WOW.. almost every single piece is affordable (OG's) but all the sold out prints from the past are quite pricey! I can't believe how inexpensive the OG's are and they are nice sizes too!!!
New prints " ignored prayers" edition of 10.... had to grab 1.. anyone else?

David Choe - Character Assassination - 5th Feb, by rosstierney on Feb 4, 2010 18:20:21 GMT 1, I contemplated the print but was hoping for one of the new images + it's massive! & would cost a small fortune to frame. Then again, an edition of 10 for $500 is hard to turn down but I didn't instinctively jump at it so decided to leave it for someone else. I'd be tempted to hang it upside down too! ;D
