Inkie π¬π§ Graffiti Artist β’ London & Bristol β’ Art For Sale, by urbanangel on Jun 11, 2008 17:15:38 GMT 1, Announcement
We are pleased to announce that we are now representing Inkie.
This will be on an ongoing basis, for all original artworks.
We also have 5 canvases available, which will be added to both the New Arrivals and the Inkie artist page, over the next few days.
INKIE: Biography
Influenced by punk rock album graphics, 2000AD comics and early New York wild style pioneers such as Dondi, Seen & T-Kid, Inkie started out 1983 painting alongside 3D of Massive Attack fame, Goldie, The Chrome Angels and Nick Walker.
In 1989 he came 2nd in the World Street Art championships beating off fierce competition from LA, New York and all major European countries. Later that year he hit national headlines, when he was arrested along with 72 other writers as the 'Kingpin' in the UK's largest ever graffiti bust βOperation Andersonβ. His arrest, court case and subsequent acquittal was all documented by BBC2 in the programme βDrawing The Lineβ.
In the late 1990s Inkie and fellow Bristolian Banksy collaborated on the largest ever UK graffiti event, βWalls On Fireβ, where they pulled together UKβs finest street artists to create 1.4 km painting around Bristolβs historic docks.
These early years and Inkieβs rise to notoriety was recently documented in the Banksyβs Bristol (Tangent Books), which traces the birth of the UK graffiti scene and itβs Bristol roots.
Inkie has also featured in and organised the launch exhibition for the Thames & Hudson book βGraffiti Worldβ as well as the LA produced worldwide graffiti film βBomb Itβ which premiered at the British Film Institute autumn 2007.
Heβs also produced work for Puma, Xbox, Adidas, Levis, Addict, Lovebox and Latitude Festivals and his graffiti featured in SEGAβs seminal video game Jet Set Radio.
More recently Inkie has been an integral part of the Shoreditch based Secret Wars collective, who has taken their infamous live street art battles across the UK and Europe. (www.secretwars.co.uk)
Currently Inkie is half way through a world tour with Belvedere and Jade Jagger painting large live canvases at star studded events across the world.
Recent shows include:
βExposed To The Elementsβ at Notting Hill Arts Club Portobello Film Festival at Westbourne Studios βAlternativityβ at Truman Brewery Guerilla Galleries in Bristol
A show at the Royal West Of England Academy in Bristol is also penciled in for late 2008 / early 2009. Inkie has also been lined up to do a print design for Top Shopβs spring/summer collection, a limited range of baseball caps for New Era and an exclusive series of rugs for the renowned Rugged Art Collective. (www.ruggedart.com)
Together with fellow street artist Zaki of Chrome Angels fame, Inkie runs the clothing label βFlying Eyeballβ selling limited edition t-shirts, street wear, prints and accessories.

Inkie π¬π§ Graffiti Artist β’ London & Bristol β’ Art For Sale, by Adamski on Aug 1, 2008 12:49:54 GMT 1, I was taking some pics of my Richt bits for another thread and thought I'd photo some of my other bits while I was doing it.
One thing that occured to me is that no one ever mentions Inkie on this forum. Does anyone else on here have any Inkie prints or even originals? maybe some pics of his street work?
Bit of a Bristol legend really.

Inkie π¬π§ Graffiti Artist β’ London & Bristol β’ Art For Sale, by saltandiron on Aug 1, 2008 16:52:05 GMT 1, I saw one of his pieces at the Latitude festival a few weeks ago. I didn't have my camera but I borrowed a friend's. I'll post the pictures when they email them to me. Also took some pics of a massive Mode2. They looked really good in amongst the trees.

Inkie π¬π§ Graffiti Artist β’ London & Bristol β’ Art For Sale, by stickee on Nov 6, 2008 15:03:57 GMT 1, From the t&cs "the winning bid will be the highest offer made via bid slip in person, via mail or on ebay"So if I bid Β£300 for one on ebay and one other person bids Β£50 on ebay so I "win" it for a Β£55 and someone has already put in a paper bid for Β£250 who gets it?
Any ideas Cheba??

Inkie π¬π§ Graffiti Artist β’ London & Bristol β’ Art For Sale, by Cheba on Nov 6, 2008 15:25:19 GMT 1, hi stickee. just had this through from the organizer asking if i could post this on here:
The organisers of the Bristol Festival didnt think about re-sale when giving the artists freedom to paint so a lot of the boards are difficult to separate, but can be done. Or you could bid on all the joining pieces to keep them together. We/They wanted to run ebay at the same time (hence low starting prices) but technical difficulties meant a delay in getting it all up so it was decided that the only fair way to do it was to enter all the paper bids into ebay and the final ebay prices win.
xx
