With the greatest of respect Ron, an overwhealming majority of artists do not manage to sell out there first ever print edition of 100 at ยฃ275 each!
I respect and enjoy this artist's work, but I genuinly felt that his 1st print was priced a good ยฃ100 or so too high, even considering the methodology/process. Whatever happened to prices getting to a certain level, based on a body of work put together over time? The answer is, "nothing, but POW can charge what they like and SOME/enough people will pay it, in the hope that their purchase becomes profitable, regardless of the art" IMHO of course.
That said, had I had a chance to think about it and really digest the image, I still would have bought Vhils' 1st release, because the image alone would have swayed me, but ยฃ275 is a significant amount of ยฃยฃยฃ to me and not an amount of money I'd like to regret having spent later, so no snap decisions for me. At ยฃ150 I'd have had it and maybe even this one as well.

Yup, a bit self contradictory I guess  . While I gladly accept that Vhils is not a run of the mill talent and so his art commands higher than run of the mill prices, I stand by my opinion that for a 1st ever print release in an edition of 100, ยฃ275 was an awful lot of money to ask. Had it been released by ANYONE other than POW, I do not believe it would have sold out on the 1st day, let alone within the 1st half hour. But as stated, I am not a detractor of the lad's work, it's refreshing, striking, attractive and I do enjoy seeing it. I just feel, as I know some others do too, that POW's prices are a tad high pretty much across the board. That said, I do hoe that Vhils goes on to develop his talent further, because some of his work so far has been special. (I think my favourite so far is the Graffle piece)

However, I can't make out whether one part of it, the bottom left of the chin, is damaged or it's supposed to look like that.

Cracking print though!

i think the 'blemish' adds and fits perfectly and does flow with similar parts on the print - it's all fucked up and thats the style - sweet image - sweet execution and technique
