of course the pieces I really love are at the higher prices...as is often the case with me, champagne taste with koolaid moneys...

Xenz π¬π§ Graeme Brusby β’ Graffiti Artist β’ Street Art, by Wearology on Mar 20, 2011 2:04:55 GMT 1, I bought a piece of art from the XENZ show last night. I absolutely love it and wifey thinks it is horrible. We have completely different taste in art. Does anyone else have issues about art with their significant other and how do you deal with it? I need help - because if I have to chose between my Banksy's and her me and Mr. B will live happily ever after.

I think I am quite lucky. The walls tend to be mine. My partner has only ever objected to one piece, which is now one of the many pieces in my ofice at work. It was a piece that I really didnt expect her to object to tho.

But she really doesn't get Eine, hates Bast, not the biggest fan of Yeo. Luckily she likes Parla, Denning, Neate and Matt Small. But there's plenty of others she keeps on hinting for me to sell.

Xenz π¬π§ Graeme Brusby β’ Graffiti Artist β’ Street Art, by Wearology on Mar 20, 2011 2:37:31 GMT 1, I keep Queen Vic in my office and some Pure Evil pieces that scare the children in there too - I guess now I have to start putting stuff up in there that the Miss's object to as well. P.S. I told her what I posted before on the forum and she just admitted to me after 15 years of being together that she dislikes 80% of the art on our walls. Oh no this is gonna be a long long night and potentially the mother load of all clear out sales coming to a forum near you. Wish me luck !!!!

I keep getting told she's sick of the house looking like a gallery. She's going to go nuts when the Slink triptych goes up. Fingers crossed

Also Wearology that's not good news
The misses and I have been living together 3 years. But when we bought our apartment she said now i want a say in what goes on the walls. Fortunately she likes most although she has told me that my 'Locust Plague' (Logan Hicks) has to go,its scary?? (its in the spare bedroom) I said what about when we get a bigger place i can put it in the study/hall way?? NO was the reply!! She bought her first ever piece a Grafter Eskimo Canvas which is a brilliant image and I love it also. I wonder is there any ladies on here that have husbands/boyfriends who don't like their art??

Unfortunately yes... For every piece I buy I have to start with negociations. No is a current answer. I'm still thinking to some pieces I really like but I can't buy (a Joe Black and a Ian Francis in particular). Sometimes I buy first and things turn bad when I show the piece... I have lot of examples... Ludo grapp og on paper can't go on the wall, Mantis og on wood is hidden, I had to go for a small Part2ism, etc. Fortunately some pieces are accepted but it's weerd because I don't understand the logic. A Boxi has just been accepted and I was pretty sure it was too dark... Anyway, in the end we always find pieces we both agree and it's a good way to keep my wallet closed in the meantime ;D I can't complain because our walls are pretty exciting but I'm still waiting the future big house with my special room where I will hang everything I want without asking for permission... I feel like a kid ;D

When my girlfriend and I bought a house and moved in together there were discussions about pretty much every piece of art - as to whether it could go in the main areas of the house or whether they were banished to my study.
As you said it's a strange on though as i'm still not sure what it is that she doesn't like about pieces. For example some herakut pieces she loves but others she can't stand, and a vhils piece i just bought i was sure was study bound but she really likes it.
back on topic the xenz work looks amazing.

Xenz π¬π§ Graeme Brusby β’ Graffiti Artist β’ Street Art, by jakek on Mar 20, 2011 17:44:58 GMT 1, the newcastle scene is really growing fast now, this is the best news i've heard since the titifreak show!
glad to hear things are all good in manchester. i don't know if it's just me but things in Bristol seem to be great at the moment. I don't know whether it's the nicer weather that's happening but there's more and more top quality street work happening - inkie, milk, paris, sickboy, limited press all seem to have been out and about lately.

Just been looking though the PDF and there are some amazing pieces for sale at very reasonable prices. Remember these are originals painted rather than a 'knocked up' Glicee printed off of someone's computer. I guess a lot have sold?

The 'Sunbird forest' looks the most incredible piece. The detail and colours really make it and the size looks huge.
Also loving 'pretty crazy'. Colours look great and again, lovely detail.
