Well my framer told me theres next to no point putting UV glass on unless I expected the print to be in sunlight often. I live in London, we have two days of summer a year and even then its hit and miss as to whether the sun will shine. I'm happy with having the materials conservation standard so that there can be no damage to the paper, i think if we get to the point where all my work needs UV glass to protect it i'll assume the sun has exploded.

I've never had any probs with Newgate, but have never tried anyone else so cant comment on how good they are compared to others. He's a nice guy that runs it and they have the kind of frames i like, thats about all i need really.

on an interesting subnote though, it's my belief that conservation mounting stops the print degrading and being contaminated by acid etc. it's basically stopping what happens to old newspaper which goes yellow after a while. therefore, if you dont mount your art on conservation standard boarding, over time the edges of your print will turn a lovely shade of off yelow..
now back to the main event... wasnt someone about to say something about somebody else's mother?
