Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Cocteau 101 on Mar 3, 2007 9:28:47 GMT 1, Just received Politics from Harwood King. Disappointingly in the most flimsy box I have ever seen for sending a Β£200 print. On opening the both sections of the print are badly creased and damaged. Very very disappointing.
I spoke to Quentin King a couple of weeks ago and he seemed a top bloke so I don't envisage any real problems hopefully on an refund or exchange.
Does anyone know what their returns policy is i.e. will I get another Politics as it is now sold out.
Cheers

Mine showed up. Was in fine condition and the box was good. In the flesh, the print is ok. I am sure will look better framed but have no doubt what makes it is the "extras" - silkscreens and silver foil. Otherwise, i'd appear more like a cheapish colour photocopy.
I'll hold on to the print for now. I'm not disapointed but not overwhelmed either.

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by manchestermike on Mar 3, 2007 10:29:38 GMT 1, Odd... everything I've received from them has been really, and I mean really, well packaged.
Shame you're not keen McNuts, I think it's a good print - it's not a patch on Holy F**k though which is absolute class (and I've not received my Disneyland Black Horror yet). It may grow on you mate, if not I'm sure you can find it a good home pretty easily

On the subject of black rat - big, well huge, tubes - like big enough to fit a rocket in - you're not going to have any worries

That's why I don't like giclee's, ink jet and photocopy are not a million miles apart. The exception is for photographs, really not bad for that medium, I've had a couple of my own photo's printed very large on my mates large format ink jet printer, but I think art work looks a little like a photo of art work.
I agree with you about the foil, varnish and extras I bet they make all the difference.

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by rolyateel on Mar 3, 2007 12:33:56 GMT 1, my divine revalation2 arrived sandwiched between thick cardboard - which TNT still managed to fuck up huge hole in the print + some creases
quentin is sorting me a replacement print had to cut the damaged one in half & email him a photo as proof
felt really weird cutting up a Β£300 print (even though it was already fucked)

True enough but its a keeper.I've seen the frame jobs posted here and they make the print look class. So, now its time to save up for a frame. For now, it stays in the pizza box

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by bluey on Feb 10, 2007 21:48:23 GMT 1, Is Dan Baldwin the new Micallef for 2007? Being close friends with Micallef and work being sold through Opus, his work seems to be getting similiar attention that Micallefs did 12-18 months ago. I'm really liking what he is doing and wondered if anybody has purchased one of his quick selling prints and if so, what are they like in the flesh? Opus reckon his prints have sold out in 6 weeks and Micallefs sold in over 6 months! Your opinions please Banksy heads !!!!

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by slowmo on Feb 12, 2007 13:48:30 GMT 1, Had this email recently
'Thank you for your purchase of an FRAMED 'Apocalypse WoW' print by Dan Baldwin from us at London Art Fair.
The prints are still being prepared (as they are all hand finished by the artist) and will be delivered to our framers on 15th February and are then due to be ready for distribution or collection from the beginning of March.
Apologies if this was a longer wait than you anticipated...but I hope worth it!! The print has now sold out and Dan is trying to shoot them as quickly as possible!'
I can't wait to get mine, taking bloody ages

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by stylus on Feb 12, 2007 14:22:10 GMT 1, I vaugely remember seeing other threads on this subject. Is there a consensus on what the motive is? i.e. test the market, price not high enough, deal made off eBay etc etc.?
No worries if there isn't consensus on it... I'm just curious as to what they stand to gain from it!

The only thing I can think is that they have a set selling price in their mind, and it it doesn't look like it's going to hit it, they pull the auction... but what do I know?!
