Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by manchestermike on Mar 22, 2007 18:52:16 GMT 1, Have you got any pics of your new purchase? Also, how much are the prints? I was planning to go to the private view tonight, but if the prints are already gone or out of my price range, I may go later in the week instead. At least that way I'll actually get a proper chance to look at some of the art.
They're Β£750 for the triptych

No pic , only on my phone and i can't transfer. Their was quite alot of things like one off tea pots and vases that were available to order. Also there is the free booze to enjoy and all of his originals to look at, which about half were sold at 4.30 pm.

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by stylus on Mar 22, 2007 21:31:28 GMT 1, Just got back from mthe opening. The usual free beer scrum affair by around 7ish. They still seemed to be taking credit cards for the print tryptich, but I didn't go for it this time. I already have 4, which I kind of prefer. The vases and originals were pretty blo*dy cool! Not a dodgy dog portrait in sight.

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by stylus on Mar 22, 2007 23:05:18 GMT 1, Sorry, no - I always feel gulty about taking photos of people's art. How neurotic is that!? The red and yellow skull pieces were really big - and really good. Β£15k I think. Then there were quite a few vases, bowls, cushions. There were something like 10 other big original paintings. Lots of stuff stuck to them - bullets, notes... and robots! Well worth going down to see. Oh and some little pink badges. Look out for a bunch of them on Flea Bay

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by finsburyparkranger on Mar 22, 2007 23:21:09 GMT 1, The new print was shown to some extent on the Forster gallery web site a while back. On the first third of the print its got a ripped American flag draped above a skull. In the middle is a really beautiful blue butterfly flying out of a fiery orange chaos with a real torn dollar bill at the bottom corner.
The middle print has got a lovely plume of blueness spraying into a now red back ground. Around the edges are lots of real touches such as a target and on the top right is the face of bearded man, possibly Jesus juxtaposed with another dollar bill.
In the right print the red that blended from the fiery orange now turns into black around the edges and makes you think you're looking at space with a blue galaxy shape in the middle. Over this is Baldwin esque flowers, more burnt dollars and skeleton torso.

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by sausageboonwee on Mar 22, 2007 23:57:27 GMT 1, I've just got back and managed to get a print with about five to go at about 6.45. A really stunning print(s). Dan was there and the night was very civilised compared to the Faile show. I think Dan's work, like most art has to be seen in the flesh. I doubt whether there was anything left by the end of the night. I should also mention that along with everything else the print had 2 real brass bullet shells attached. The print isn't going to be available for about a month yet so guess I will have to wait. If you love his work, like I do, this is the best print yet, a real work of art x3.

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by ziggy on Mar 23, 2007 1:31:08 GMT 1, Just got back from the show, bit drunk and bit poorer buy very merry. For those who have yet to be converted I suggest you go and have a look at his work, this guy is the real deal, the prints are lovely but the originals are something else... oh and he is really nice to talk to which makes a change! All was sold except 2 large pieces (always a bit tricky to sell) and one circular piece, your looking at Β£8000-9500 each for those pieces. Prices have jumped a lot from a few months back, was a bit of a shock to see similar sized pieces selling for Β£6000 when they were about Β£3600 only a few months ago but I guess that's how it goes. Nite nite!

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Winter on Mar 23, 2007 9:36:34 GMT 1, Would agree with above - a really great show, nice people and Dan being friendly and pleasant to all. I also bought the print which is his best to date. I almost think it is unfair to refer to it as just a print as it is so much more.
I think if future print releases are as strong as this the man has a very big future and he's only been on the scene for a couple of months, the future looks bright.

Dan Baldwin π¬π§ New Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by slowmo on Mar 23, 2007 10:28:32 GMT 1, Actually thought the print was overpriced! Nice that it was, it is 3/4 the size of the apocalypse wow print and costs another Β£350. That said though, it was very well made and had a lot of individual parts, so I guess to call it a print is not quite accurate.
Great show, I too was surprised at the price hike, but they were all sold so I guess they priced them right.

I initially thought it was pretty expensive too but as there is so much hand finishing I really do class it as a true varied edition (let's face it those dollar bills can't be burnt exactly the same on each print). Based on that Β£750 was not too bad to get a peice of his work considering the cheapest original was Β£3600. I think we have been spoilt with Politcs for Β£150 and Apocalypse Wow for Β£400.

Yes that is them, photos are REALLY bad though, sort of mixed up as some on the second page are from the show and others are long sold, seems most new pieces have 'contact gallery' in green type.

I think there are only 3 pieces left but sometimes people pull out of deals when they wake up in the morning. Prices include VAT.
Love Meets death Β£9500 A Nod to Blake, Hirst, Takashi Β£8000 Love Pain Β£9500
Cheapest original there was Β£3600 and the most expensive was Β£15000, quite a few were Β£6000. Hope this helps.

I was talking about them last night, they look really appealing to children, who would want to pick them up and look. So you have 2 problems if you have children or children that visit. 1 having the embarassing situation of what does fxxk mean and 2, they will drop something and smash it. Steered clear of them on those counts
