The new documentary from controversial street artist Banksy may not be shown at Dalston's Rio Cinema.
Although flyers for Banksy's 'Exit Through the Gift Shop' - following a French fan's quest for graffiti superstardom - lists the Kingsland High Street cinema as one of the limited UK film houses screening the film, it is now uncertain whether this will go ahead.
Rio general manager, Charles Rubinstein, said screening was dependent on the success of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's new French flick, Micmacs, and a decision would be made on Banksy's film on Monday (February 29).
Banksy, whose work in Stoke Newington Church Street and the Foundry art space in Shoreditch has attracted attention over the past month due to Hackney Council's removal policy, uses his new film to explore the blurred boundaries between what is art, what is graffiti and what is, well, rubbish.
'Exit Through the Gift Shop' is currently previewing in a makeshift cinema under a graffiti-clad railway bridge in Leake Street, Waterloo.

Went with scavos.
All round cracking night.
Real buzz about the whole thing - fantastic venue, pretty much an exhibition in itself.
Film was just superb.
So many great one liners, so many great clips.

So if anyone has one ticket for the 6pm Waterloo showing I'd love to go (on my own!), I seem to have spare time all of a sudden... I had chances to buy tickets too, had them reserved on the internet, waited and waited to hear back from her.... and now tadaaaa, she is washing her hair! 
Please someone make my day!

i would imagine so; they'd be wise to get as much mileage out of that place as possible, it's an awesome if not vaguely surreal venue in there.

Eventuall I wont be able to move without hearing or reading about them in one way or another and I won't like them as much as I once did, in fact over time i'll probably begin to hate them when I realise they've become bigger than they were ever meant to be, and i'm standing there in that elevator listening to a bossa-nova version of their song.
Perhaps this is human nature, whether it be a band, a film, an artist, a building, anything... the circle of Zeitgeist...

One adopted by most people on here who see his work and actions for what they are () and the other 'spectators' who know the name and know that he's an unknown figure who does shocking and entertaining things and just enjoy the entertainment and majesty of it all...
Those of us on here will watch and analyse the film and i think those with a vague interest will watch, enjoy and go back to doing what the do...
Hopefully along the way a few wayward souls will move to the dark site...
