The Jam has been arranged by C215 to bring over artists throughout the year to paint the streets of Vitry and put on exhibitions in The Loft project
I was put up for 5 days and got to paint alongside the likes of FAKE and Sly2 along with plenty of other amaing artists. I just painted solidfor 5 days, it was such a great place to be, so inspiring to be around such amazing artwork and a great open,light space!
Vitry is such a unique place in that there is a certain amount of freedom to put up work, under the guidance of Christian
It was far too cold for me to paint in the streets, so I will be returning in the spring to put some work up in the street
The list of artists going over to paint is amazing,including the likes of Dale Grimshaw and Snik next month so I can not begin to imagine how amazing the place is going to look in a year or so
Here are a few pictures of the weekend, and I strongly suggest you go over if you get the chance, it is literally 15 minutes Paris

Spent the whole of thursday and friday putting this beast up with the help of my man Joe
Its on Hanbury Street just off b
Brick Lane
Joseph Loughborough joined us on thursday to put 2 beauties of his own up
Was great fun and great to work on such a surface, think the brick really helps to bring the piece together
Was bloody hard work but worth while in the end I think
Is was really nice to paint something related to the area (its a bengali mother and child) and all the locals seemed to like it which was a really important. Had people of all ages and backgrounds coming to chat to us, was a really nice all round experience

So this is what ended up coming together
The piece is called 'Closer Leon'
We both put down the background, my lighter tones and Joe's darker ones
Then Joe went to work with the charcoals and sculpted the face which I then went into with my inks, cans and pens before Joe finished off with a few final touches
Really good fun, nice to step out of your comfort zone and try something new
We are doing a joint exhibition out in Vitry, Paris at the end of June. We will be spending the whole of June out there as resident artists, putting the show together as well as doing some street work. Also a little trip to do some live painting at an art fair at the Louvre at the beginning of the month,
So if anyone is interested in the piece and wants to put in a sensible offer then hit either of us up, any money will be used to help us survive our month in Paris, be nice to afford some decent food every once in a while rather than the baked beans i can see us living on for most of the month, sniff sniff
