Don't know them. Do know Jim Thurlbecks 'Foetus'. Fine band...
Got into them after they were name checked in a Matt Johnson interview and that man can do no wrong. The the. Brilliant. Impossible to google....

If you mean Jim Thirwell, then it'll be the same person. Recorded under numerous Foetus names. Agreed on The The. Class.. Soul Mining is in my all time top ten.

Jim & Matt - you couldn't beat em - at the time....
Self Immolation Label spawned some fine acts. (you can't see the link however if you check out Matt and Jim on wikipedia - tut tut ..)
Soul Mining and Hole - rank as legendary pieces which today sound as fresh as they did when they were released. (both artistes never imho captured their visions as clearly as they did here... )
..
for the uninitiated check out

Yes - i do mean Thirwell.
One of my biggest regrets was not seeing The The on the Mind Bomb tour because I hated the Smiths so much and Johnny Marr was the guitarist. I was a dick...
Incidentally, the cover of Mind Bomb is incredible, especially given the recent lauding of Mantis' All fall down. I'm at work so cannot add pic but will do later...

If you mean me, yes I am ;D he he.
Jim is doing the "Invisible Jukebox", the section where they play an artist a series of tracks and ask him to comment/guess/discuss.

i saw the mind bomb tour in brixton & hackney, he played 'giant' as an encore & it ranks as one off the best moments from my gigology. so much energy, nearly blew the academy roof off! there again i saw him a few years ago at the garage in highbury, & he was shite!

tripp prints, by michaelscott on Nov 5, 2007 15:33:04 GMT 1, Matt and The The were discussed at length, a month or two ago...check the threads. and my Foetus/Jim memories began with him playing saxophone on "Rip it up"w/Orange Juice on top of the pops. And then with SoftCell...totally wild and manic. He is a genius.
and, add to the list of band names "princess tinymeat" and "the gun club"

tripp prints, by dotdot on Nov 5, 2007 16:04:55 GMT 1, Saw Jim in 89 Kentish Town. (Westerberg from Swans on Geetar)..
Magic show - almost turned into a riot - can't be too surprised at that eh ?
Gun Club - aha Jeffrey - RIP - *the las vegas story* their peak.
..
Nice to know people still remember a time when music was a collection of disjointed movements and not something now commoditised... (myspace / facebook ? yo say wha?)

Can't find the picture I'm thinking of. It was the end of a rifle, vetrtical, with a bayonet on it and a dove stabbed on the bayonet. Anyone find it???

His lyrics still give me goosebumps. It's like Bill Hicks - some things are universal truths and don't date. Ah, the human condition...

Infected - torture sleeve
GunSluts
Matt Johnson is da dogs!
The work by his brother on the early covers is great too. RIP andy dog.
