Last week, we have been in the print studio with SAM3, where the Spanish artist worked with our favorite screen printer on an adaption of the mural "Voluntas", which he painted in Vila Real.

Now we are very proud to announce the release of this print for Wednesday, 16th of December.

5 layer screenprint on Hahnemuehle paper (300g/m)
Edition of 55, 78x49 cm
signed & numbered

"Voluntas" is translated "the will". The piece shows how the head controls the body, while the body keeps the head above the water. As usual SAM3 works with philosophical concepts in a poetic and narrative way.
The production of the piece was a bit tricky, but our printers managed it to get a magnificent deep blue, with a cool gradient and all these tiny dots on the body. After numerous test prints we finally came to fantastic result and a stunning print.
"Voluntas" is a five layer screen print on Hahnemuehle hand moulded paper (300gsm) with deckled edges. The small edition of 55 prints is signed and numbered by the artist and is embossed with the Pretty Portal stamp. The dimensions are 78x49 cm.
The edition will be released on 16th of December, 7pm (CET) at shop.prettyportal.de.

SAM3, who has been exhibiting at Pretty Portal in 2010 and 2013, hand picked the finest urban artists from Spain and returns to Dรผsseldorf.
Part of the featured artists are Liqen, Limow, Hyuro, Daniel Munoz, Jeice2, Aris and of course SAM3 himself. All artists are vivid parts of the nowadays Spanish UrbanArt movement and have contributed their works at numerous festivals. Their studio works have been displayed in many solo and collective shows and have been featured in publications and books.
On display are works on paper - drawings, watercolor screen- and linocut prints.

One of the pieces is still there I believe (man climbing up woman's legs); the council covered the other one pretty quick (was a man hanging from a CCTV camera).
Going through my old stuff I found the sketch he used as a guide for the existing piece, with a pencil sketch of the front of the club in the reverse. It's alittle bit manky but I figure someone here would appreciate it. Anyone want it? I just want postage in return as I didn't pay for it.

I can't believe I've enjoyed this piece on my walls for almost 10 years! Looking for a price check, just considering finding a new home for my 'Deeprooted' by Sam3. I need a little wall space and some funds for framing! I don't like to have portfolios hanging about full of art waiting to be framed, I prefer to have it on my walls.
2008 POW print, edition of 50, one colour screenprint on hand-made Khadi paper. Print measures 75cm x 36cm. The last image shows a mark on the print which it came with from POW. I was so pleased to get it that I didn't question the mark! I know I should have, but it was sold out after I bought mine and I didn't want to send it back. Framed with UV glass.
POW website: 'Sam3 became part of the POW family when he accepted our invitation to Santaโs Ghetto, Bethlehem. His powerful and inventive work on the cities separation wall struck a chord for both the Palestinian and global audience. Since almost 10 years we are working with the Spanish urban artist SAM3. His paintings and murals are ironic, poetic, but especially provocative. They discuss philosophical subjects, question habits of our daily life and refer to current social discourses.
Next Wednesday, 13th of June 2018, we will release SAM3s latest limited edition screen print "Babylon". SAM3 painted the image for this print last summer during the Metropolink Festival in Schwรคbisch Hall.
"Babylon" is a two layer screen print on hand moulded Somerset Velvet paper. Next to the main colour black, SAM3 used a beautiful metallic gold for the details.
