I am actually still pondering a second piece but I could not resist taking he plunge on this beauty.... ;D ;D

I love the detail of the figure standing in the middle which after starring at it for ages suddenly jumped out at me.

The show is called "Mind the Gap" and features a wealth of work by Barry McGee and Phil Frost. The gallery, which looks to be pretty amazing is called Prism.
While I unfortunately could not make the special preview night and have no pictures to share, there are some amazing pictures to be seen on Arrested Motion and Slam Hype. Here are a few photos I "borrowed" from arrested motion:

The opening was truly an event. The work from both McGee and Frost were awesome, in the truest sense of the word. I have not been following them long enough to know if it was their best, but I can say that it was the strongest work I have ever seen from either.
The space itself is superb. These guys are taking art shows in L.A. to a whole new level. I'm really hoping they can continue to bring in some heavy hitters. The initial though I had is that people like Parla, Neate, Futura, Faile, and Swoon could really go to town and create some stunning MASSIVE works in the space. The large Frost and McGee pieces had to have been approximately 30+ feet (vertical).
The only quasi-complaint was that they did not yet have the price list put together. The workers were not even sure what, if anything, would be up for sale. I'm certain this will all be sorted in the very near future.
Anyhow, if you are anywhere near the area do not sleep on this.
