We've been so used to it for so long with the black frame that the white one really makes the image pop. It's like getting a whole new print.....without the price tag.

Banksy Art FRAMED, by ab3 on Nov 7, 2019 18:02:33 GMT 1, I've had some of these stickers sat in a draw for 14 years and thought it about time I did something with them.
Anyone else got any stickers framed? Would be interested to see what others have done with theirs as I've never really known what to do with them before.

Banksy Art FRAMED, by met on Jan 20, 2020 16:28:18 GMT 1, Framed No Ball Games - Thoughts??
With the composition (including its large areas of negative space) and restricted palette of an image like No Ball Games, simplicity in framing is often key.
Although there have been many exceptions, when it comes to matting, I generally dislike the use of more than a single layer.
In this instance, the Banksy print looks to have been quadruple-matted. But especially when combined with different coloured mats, the appearance for me becomes gimmicky and obtrusive. Indeed, the black and red bevelled edges draw my eye outwards, away from the art itself. They distract rather then complement.
[By way of side note, multiple mats in contrasting colours appear to be popular with a fair number of collectors right now, especially younger ones. Likewise with coloured spacers. What I do suspect, however, is that these style choices risk being seen as dated within a decade. To my mind, they're akin to the naffness of "urban" drips and splatters added to window mats and mouldings — a godawful style once championed by outfits like Mister Frame Man.]
__________
While the above are just personal preferences you and I may disagree upon, we probably share more common ground in relation to glazing.
For fine art and photography that has a high financial or sentimental value, I strongly recommend switching to premium acrylic or glass. Its non-reflective properties will make a world of difference to your viewing experience. Nobody I know who's made this additional investment has ever regretted it.

i share the same sentiment, let the art speak for it self. the latest framing trends seem to be to add colorful spacers and backgrounds to the art work, or a continuation of the art work painted by the framer, def not my cup of tea...I saw a couple of adriana oliver prints that when framed up by wademax looked like a complete different art work, dismal to her minimalist style 😨
keep it minimal, let the art work speak for it self.

Banksy Art FRAMED, by ab3 on Jan 23, 2020 22:01:08 GMT 1, Picked up a Peckham Rocks postcard on eBay, embarrassingly for 10 times what they were when they came out (can't believe that I missed them) and just got it back from the framers who I got to mount it in an Ikea frame and put in anti reflective glass.
I'm really pleased with it and think it looks great.
I think there was one that went up in the Chiswick Urban & Contemporary Art Auction a few days ago and I think it went for £375!!!! Is this right?

I have shown my ones before ... these are the postcards from when the Walled Off Hotel first opened with the addition of a commerative Yasser Arafat Palestinian Authority stamp on the reverse ... not many around ... these are not mine, but quite like the framing with the open back ... I might do something similar with mine ... but using MrFrameMan http://instagr.am/p/BcupzrWlRq_ ... this is the stamp on the back of one of my postcards ...

Banksy Art FRAMED, by tonys on Feb 12, 2020 10:10:36 GMT 1, Yea the black frame almost distracts from the image.... Loving the White frame Yep totally. We've been so used to it for so long with the black frame that the white one really makes the image pop. It's like getting a whole new print.....without the price tag. Out of interest, had there been any fading of the paper?
I want to reframe mine but after 10+ years I'm fearing some issues.

We kept the same mount so i'm not sure the framer looked at the paper.
We did have a chat about that though and we came to the conclusion that when these were made in 2005 and sold for £75, Banksy wouldn't have been that interested in getting the best quality museum paper and making it so that they didn't fade. So i think i'd be more surprised if there wasn't any slight fading.
