The Denning show is amazing, I could have bought every piece in there, they were that good!
Had made a cheeky purchase beforehand which Gary has at moment.
Personally think this looks amazing but then I would!

But Id just love to see more from guy than just head studies. Put them in a context, lets see the body more and lets have more scenes and other people etc. I want to see relationships on the canvas with spralling backdrops and settings. Id absolutely love to see that.
Loving the work though bloody amazing as ever.

Considered to be one of the best silent films ever made Guy Denning has used screen shots from a small section of the 1928 film The Passion of Joan of Arc, directed by Carl Theodore Dreyer, as inspiration for his 'Behemoth' solo show currently showing at 'The Gallery in The Crypt, St Martin in The Fields, London. Rene Falconetti gives one of the greatest performances ever recorded on film, as the young maiden who died for God and France. The original version of the film was lost for decades, after a fire destroyed the master negative. Dreyer himself attempted to reassemble a version from out-takes and surviving prints, but he died believing his original cut was lost forever. Almost miraculously, a virtually complete print of Dreyer's original version was found in 1981.
