Such a strange picture

Who is the lady posing beside the piece . Is it to give perspective on the size of the canvas ? One rarely captures a human next to one’s art unless it’s in the reflection of the cheap glass used to frame the piece . Has she dressed up for the picture or is this everyday attire

I think that the flying crow was actually a prep sketch for a painting
that Guy did, “The Black Sky Dint Change Colour Nor ...”. No crows
in the final painting, but it was an idea for a while. The painting was
about the novel “Riddley Walker”, by Russell Hoban.
Currently out of frame but it arrived framed, said to have anti UV glass. I bought from the original buyer, who is a member here. Can sell framed or unframed maybe

The paper is newsprint from 1930. It is quite thin, and Guy has added some masking tape to the rear edges & a ’stretcher’. I’m guessing that this is to strengthen it, rather than because he had it taped up anywhere, but that is just a guess.
