Thanks for that, I've had a couple of people on the board say I should remake it and put it outside London Zoo! It's really tempting

C215 🇫🇷 Christian Guémy • Paris Street Art • Stencil Artr, by Pure Evil on Aug 2, 2008 23:24:45 GMT 1, I think the thing is, you have to be totally zen about it all. If stuff gets taken, buffed, tagged over, pooed on or sprayed off and turned into papier mache it just means you have to work that much harder to stay up... I was arseing around in the gallery the other day and I had done about 25 pieces and I was taking pics and thinking about what do do with them and it just struck me that i had forgotten something. Im a bloody street artist! I got off my arse and went walkabout and put all the pieces up in the street where they belonged. About 7 or 8 of them lasted about 12 hours but thats just the game isnt it. Easy come, easy go. The ones that survived are still there.
I also think that if people start to put stuff up higher than about 8 feet off the ground theres less chance of it being taken down or cleaned off. Dont make it easy for people . Adapt and Survive.

Couldn't agree more PE, it's quite interesting to be kept on our toes and come up with new ways to display our work and find interesting new locations, besides like you said if you are going to put work in the public realm you have to expect the public to interact with it at some point!

Have to add - great work and placement Oliver. That really does need to be near that zoo you mentioned though.

Thank you, It's something I am seriously considering, it's tricky though as i usually like to move forward and not really go back but I think it would be quite fun to revisit it and put it in the sort of place it really should have been in the first place

Amognst all the stresses and dreariness, it's great to see something that makes you smile or lol. Great work mate. Would look great near a safari park. PE - guess you are right, kinda bound to get nicked - not much chance of sticking this one 8 feet up tho! Soppose thats why so many Invaders stick around so long - all the ones I've seen have been way up on the walls.

Thanks coach, after spending 4 weeks making it and 2 months planning it, by the time it was up it didn't make me smile when I used to see it!

C215 🇫🇷 Christian Guémy • Paris Street Art • Stencil Artr, by snowflake8888 on Aug 3, 2008 2:11:43 GMT 1, Static had the Chinook Chandelier on wood somewhere on Leonard Street and someone ripped it down. It was secured with industrial sealant but they pried it off anyway! Well it was up for a few weeks though.
Back to the thread, at least the circuits on the box were somewhat protected. They must have wanted it really bad to pop the rivets off the metal box.

have you tried painting your work with anti-graffitti paint so no-one sprays over it, putting it up 8ft high and then putting anti-climb paint all around it and some cctv cameras linked up to you tv at home?

Would love to be on the train to work one rush hour morning and see that in a field by the side of the tracks. Or on the motorway. Who's going to be first to do a piece on the side of one of those lorry trailers in the fields by the motorway. You'll get a lot of views!

Thanks, funnily enough, quite frequently I am on the M25 and see those trailers, every time i do I think I really must get around to doing something on one of those! Some of those are really close to the road as well, would be a great spot
