C215 🇫🇷 Christian Guémy • Paris Street Art • Stencil Artr, by Lroy on Apr 17, 2015 17:26:47 GMT 1, I read on this forum that C215 was underated, I always find that he is overated. Only these paitings on French letter boxes are alright. I found his style a bit hippy and too much colored. Tati, the cineast, said : too many colors distracted the eye of the beholder. Yes its nice of course, but then ? ...
Just my advice.

Past few years he's used more colour although check out his works from around 2008, really nice darker colours and originals on reclaimed wood etc. Recently he seems into cats? I hate cats!!

C215 🇫🇷 Christian Guémy • Paris Street Art • Stencil Artr, by solidity on Apr 18, 2015 18:48:44 GMT 1, I read on this forum that C215 was underated, I always find that he is overated. Only these paitings on French letter boxes are alright. I found his style a bit hippy and too much colored. Tati, the cineast, said : too many colors distracted the eye of the beholder. Yes its nice of course, but then ? ... Just my advice. Reading this, i remembered an interview i've read few month ago. I just found it. It was in french and i put it in google translate so sorry if it's not perfect (didn't want to spend too much time on it)
"It is his portraits of misfits who really drew attention to his work. "If the wire is to go back to my wanderings and my digressions , we must understand that at the same time, I lost my last family, my grandparents, who raised me . I found myself alone in the world . What I wanted to express, I found in the portraits of tramps . " A cycle that lasted two years, until 2010, when he felt labeled by reading about Arrested Motion specialized sites " C215 , the master of black and white stencils fragmented ". " This thing that reflected my state, crumbs , became a controlled style, which had nothing to do with my distress that evening." The artist takes against the foot. He designed a new lighting system, with a mosaic of colors fitting into each other. "To exaggerate, I have chosen saturated colors, on the edge of bad taste, and I have only light portraits, children and pretty girls ... where we did not expect me . "C215 or the art of seduction without fear of displeasing. "I got spit on by the small world of the time: they thought that I had lost my mind for having much class for tramps portraits in black and white, and suddenly starting with colors like hot pink, turquoise blue or lemon ... "He keeps this revolution great freedom of treatment, its famous cats to his winks to Caravaggio."
so it was just to say that C215 thinks a lot to his work and to the world of art. I really love his work and i really like cats so maybe i'm not the best to be objective. By the way i like this print, but i agree, a bit expensive. and i think c215 is underrated in UK but maybe a bit overrated in France (but media, galleries generally prefer local artists so it's a bit normal)

Just about C215, I read an interview - about the origin of C215 where he said the contrary : " At the beginning I had no credit, I began. I gave explanations on the choice of C215 to be legitimate. Yes, C215 in France, became a little an artist very asked for orders from municipalities, private individuals, a portraitist, and his style became almost academic. Thats why maybe I don't like him so much. I prefer a Stinkfish ( a bit more free and crazy ) per example in this kind of style...

C215 🇫🇷 Christian Guémy • Paris Street Art • Stencil Artr, by Deleted on Apr 20, 2015 12:34:41 GMT 1, Hi,
i.imgur.com/HebsVIQl.jpg
Unfortunately I really need to raise some cash towards a new car :-( I did list this a while ago, so sorry I don't know how to resurrect the listing.
Original C215 on glass and framed, measures approx; 45cm x 50cm framed and actual image approx 30cm x 40cm. I have the original receipt from art republic back in 2008.
I am looking for offers around the £2,500 plus mark.
Would prefer to conduct the transaction in person, rather than posting. Happy to meet in either London or Brighton (item is located in Brighton).
I think thats everything, please pm me if you require any further information or you're interested in buying.
Thanks.
