Mister Frameman • Mr Frameman, by jusdeep on Oct 10, 2008 20:07:40 GMT 1, The framing on the Faile is superb Edcase, such a lovely piece that shouts out and framing it traditionally would have ruined the effect. Micallef speaks for itself and the simple frame does the print justice. Not as keen on the embellishment on the Nick Walker but I think on the Grafter it works very well indeed. And last the Beejoir which suits the frame perfectly. You must very very happy. I know I would.

Never really know if these things are going to work until we have tried, but I felt that the Grafter was a sure fire bet.

Mister Frameman • Mr Frameman, by edcase on Oct 11, 2008 10:49:20 GMT 1, Thanks all. Biggest problem I have now is moving stuff around and deciding where to put everything!!!
The wall I wanted to put the faile on is a thin stud wall and I'm worried it won't take 30-odd kilos, however I've just been advised by a builder friend that radiator fixings or something will support it? Anyone know? The thought of it falling off the wall horrifies me!!!!
cheers ed

It does, but more than that, if you look further up from the far left it actually says:
baghdad
bombs
kill
which was a protest at war in Iraq. IMHO it gives this piece special interest / significance vesus the 1986-signed pieces!
Will take some better pics of that when I get it on the wall tomorrow!
thanks again for everyones comments, it's great to have this stuff but it would be a sin not to share it with likeminded individuals.

Mister Frameman • Mr Frameman, by Heavyconsumer on Oct 11, 2008 19:13:41 GMT 1, Wow Ed, that's some serious eye cansy mate! Congrat's on all of those. I love the Grafter and the Beejoir especially. What a difference the right framejob makes!!!
I am soooo upset there is no Mr Frameman in my city/state/country. I dropped a canvas in with a framer today to give them a try, they seemed professional enough. But I'd be amazed if anyone in my area can produce this quality of bespoke framing. Enjoy!!!

Mister Frameman • Mr Frameman, by edcase on Oct 13, 2008 12:39:46 GMT 1, LOL. I just unwrapped the Dain....good god it's brilliant!!! I didn't want to put it away again!
Anybody not convinced about this guy's work, personally I think you will be regretting it. Some of the layering and complexity on this piece is quite breathtaking, unfortunately I literally do not have space for it at home so I'm probably going to put it in the boardroom here in the office until I get a bigger house!!!
PS. Good job on the packaging!!!

Mister Frameman • Mr Frameman, by edcase on Oct 13, 2008 12:59:34 GMT 1, Spencer - yeah I suggested the ideas, so the type of frame I was looking for, the overspray on the walker / grafter, the faile I wanted it to look like a museum artifact hence the perspex box, and once he actually had the pieces in his hand we had another conversation on the phone to talk the details through (for example I originally wanted a much more traditional Gothic frame for the turin scam but Gary suggested the one you see on the pictures as a better alternative) but as with all ideas the magic is really in the execution. The grafter and Nick Walker could so easily have been overdone, which would actually have made them look very cheap and tacky, but as you can see they have really done a fantastic job and actually exceeded my expectations which I think is very rare in this day and age. I'm so used to being disappointed nowadays that I am happy to shout and jump up and down about a great company / service to spread the word!!
I've just sent another Faile up to them, which I have another interesting idea about.... just waiting to hear back if it's possible

A good big man always beats a good small man.
Glad it arrived safely and you like it. I expect to see it appear in PS3 ads soon.
Hopefully the replacement will be 'Motoring' its way towards me as I type.
I'll be very curious to see Dain's new work at Prescription Art and Brooklynite next week, although I already suspect I can't afford it.
With the odd absence of new Bast work lately his brother may be poised to take over.
