In these tricky times (and me being a bit gutted I canโt pay for a Hirst) i want to give a shout out to Gary.
I agreed to buy a HM off a forum member. He had already sent it to Gary for framing so I had the option to keep it there or take it unframed.
I decided to leave it with Gary as thought unfair to pull it.
Due to Brexit, Gary was having difficulty locating the exact moulding requested and it took longer than expected. Gary continued to update us with progress.
The moulding finally arrived and Gary framed the huge piece (with uv perspex) within a week or two. I had to be exact with the spacing around the piece when floated as limited to a clear space when lifting up the stairs.
Gary patiently worked within my spec and confirmed sizes. It was due to be delivered last tuesday but on final inspection, gary noticed a flaw in the moulding and after apologising, remade the frame and delivered at 8am this morning. He must have left really early to get to me in N London by that time.
He had carefully packed it. We unloaded and carried it in. He helped me get it up the stairs which was very tricky and patiently helped me lift / hang it on to a baton.
His cost for framing such a large piece was very reasonable and he really went above and beyond in communication and helping me hang it.
We are quick to criticise but often we forget to say thank you and reward a good job.
