Framing Advice, by Deleted on Oct 12, 2011 21:02:23 GMT 1, what a great idea! I really hope you guys get this of the ground, if I was in the UK I would def. be using this great offer. 99% of the Obey prints need these simple frames anyway!

Framing Advice, by Karl Read on Oct 12, 2011 22:13:31 GMT 1, I got these done by MFM a couple of weeks ago, turned out great. I got a load more i could do with getting done too. They are hard to photograph because of the light. The print sits right back from the glass, looks really smart.

Connecta has very generously offered to start a list, I can only guess but I presume the offer is shut once at least 10 pieces are committed.

To save to-ing and fro-ing, if you are interested, PM me how many you want, your email, postal address etc.
I'll compile the names and give the entire order over to Gary when I have 10+

Framing Advice, by psycho666 on Nov 22, 2011 22:41:33 GMT 1, I'm going to finally frame a print that I've had for some time. I've got the frame (Ikea) and I'm buying a custom mount online. I've tested to see how the print looks in the frame but noticed that the print slips down in the large frame.
I don't want to glue anything but is it normal to add a bit of tape at the top and bottom to stop it from moving?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Psycho666

Framing Advice, by curiousgeorge on Nov 22, 2011 23:43:59 GMT 1, Kimble is true in many ways though ideally japanese paper hinges at the top as well as mylar corners (varies from country to country, In the States it's not unusual to use mylar corners and also along the bottom edge and all on show too
Personally I always aim to for true preservation framing and divide the cost over the years of enjoyment and dare I say it peace of mind

Framing Advice, by psycho666 on Nov 23, 2011 18:01:50 GMT 1, Thanks for the replies.
You got me thinking and I remembered how a print was sent to me from White Cube. They used folded paper that fitted over the corners of the print and then they were taped to the wooden backing.
I might try something similar and cut the corners off some envelopes and then add those to the corners of the print and then tape them to the mount. Therefor the tape won't touch the actual print.

Framing Advice, by Dr Plip on Nov 23, 2011 23:33:49 GMT 1, I feel for you. We got a call from one of our drivers one night, saying he'd hit a badger. When we got there, the front of the car was pretty much destroyed, and there was the corpse of a very dead Badger slowly being dragged away into the bushes by another Badger, and Phil, a 16-stone taxi driver bawling his eyes out.
A traumatic night for all involved. It got worse though. Phil didn't have an art collection to help cover his loss of earnings for the next fortnight.
