Greenpeace Close BP Petrol Stations In London , by Gentle Mental on Jul 28, 2010 9:15:28 GMT 1, i think it's a good cheap way to keep message and the argument alive. That is the net result.
we shouldn't forget.. but we always do. next week, there will the next big boo boo and we'll forget the gazillion tons of oil swimming in our waters...
whatever helps this memory/lesson stay permanent is a good thing.
thank you gp for shaming bp, and making it a stern warning to all oil companies.

Greenpeace Close BP Petrol Stations In London , by nex on Jul 28, 2010 9:25:33 GMT 1, firstly greenpeace has done some excellent work in the past, and yes the oil industry has a lot to answer for
but if yesterdays protests were to heighten awareness, I'm not really sure what planet any of these people are living on - it's been in the news everyday since this all began and with the litigation cases etc in the States it will be in the papers longggg after yesterdays little stunt is well and truly forgotten, also as a statement it seems to have missed the point, (but as stated previously there's alot more to this than just BP)
as for a stern warning to BP gentlemental, these protests are light relief compared to the onslaught they've been getting in the press + spiralling costs of the clean up/ forthcoming costs + shares falling

Greenpeace Close BP Petrol Stations In London , by klyde on Jul 28, 2010 11:44:26 GMT 1, All that happened here is that it inconvenienced a bunch of innocent people.
All the cars that couldnโt fill up filled up else where.
Nobody went home, parked the car, went for a walk and hugged a tree.

Greenpeace Close BP Petrol Stations In London , by adewilliams on Jul 28, 2010 12:21:50 GMT 1, Net result, more fuel burned as people try to find another local petrol station.
genius!
I read somewhere that the total sum of leaked oil so far (some 140 million litres I think) is less than the USA uses every 6 hours.

Greenpeace Close BP Petrol Stations In London , by recycle on Jul 28, 2010 20:19:31 GMT 1, At the end of the day Greenpeace reached their goal with this potest which was people awareness and discussion on the topic....
I mean look at us, we're an art forum discussing the good and bad points of BP and the oil business in general.
