I've always stencilled "urban animals", I started painting rats in Tours in the early 80s, not knowing Blek had done so too in Paris ! And Banksy started painting his later and I know of lots of other "rat painters" ! I guess they are so much part of the urban landscape that we just had to stencil them ! I've also painted a lot of cockroaches, ants, spiders, bats, magpies and I paint pigeons... Will soon do squirrels, I guess... Stencilling a life-size cow in Paris was a bit of fun !!!

This piece was made legally for a street event a few months ago. It was removed and given back to me at the end of that event. I still have it at home and it's available for sale if you're interested. It's on waterproof wood fibreboard and it's quite huge (85 cm x 180 cm). I can't sell it the price of a canvas of the same size, but can't give it away either ! So maybe you can make some offers ?

People may not recognise them at first or pay attention then realise they are part of the image. For some extra points leave a few real bred crumbs beside them or, in your case a piece of baguette ;D

I painted this whole wall at Galerie du Jour, owned by Agnes B. (famous french fashion designer) for one of the first stencil group shows, in Paris, in 1986, with Blek Le Rat, Miss tic, Epsylon Point, Marie Rouffet, etc... those were the times ...

This is on canvas, i painted it 17 years ago, in 1990 ! It's called "battle of the ants" and it must be 60 x 80 cm if I remember well (I still have it in case someone is interested in that "vintage" piece !) :
