FAILE Temple - Lisbon, Portugal Arte 10, by Daniel Silk on Jul 19, 2010 12:14:27 GMT 1, Silky, Faile told me that it is originally intended to stay about one month, but if it is authorized by the City Hall it may be a couple of months more. The Temple was intended to be built but it can be 'un-built' and later 'rebuilt' in another location.
So it could appear in London, New York, LA

FAILE Temple - Lisbon, Portugal Arte 10, by stella69 on Jul 22, 2010 14:01:42 GMT 1, This looks fantastic, especially in the bright sunshine of portugal - great choice of location. Can't wait to see how it looks at night. Faile rocks, literally.

I agree its good that this will be able to be seen by many, but I think it would have been better if they had permission to leave it where it was. The dea of it being moved around kinda cheapens it for me

Yeah, I know what you mean but I guess the construction might be built in such a way that winter weather could damage it

I think that would be great though and as graffiti artists they should be used to the concept that there work will not be perfect forever. I guess as long as the new surroundings complement the temple lke the current location does, it will still have the same impact when you interact with it

"Nothing Lasts Forever"
Eventually the thing is getting defaced, destroyed, disassembled. They built new ruins; they accelerated time and seem to be MOST aware of "the concept that there work will not be perfect forever". Whatever happens to it, the point has been made and retains its value for me.

FAILE Temple - Lisbon, Portugal Arte 10, by jackstranger on Aug 1, 2010 22:14:47 GMT 1, It is really impressive. I was at the temple too days ago and made a video too, but it is not that good
I recorded some details that I think were not mentioned before: 1. You can play with the white colums inside as they spin all around and you discover countless details in them. 2. The scuba horse is inside a fountain and you can see the 'places' from where the water 'geisers' but I think it is not connected 3. Behind the scuba horse on the wall it is written in Portuguese 'Nada dura para sempre', what means 'Nothing lasts forever'. This may symbolize too the concept of the Temple being moved in the future
Everytime I go there... I discover something more. Amazing!

FAILE Temple - Lisbon, Portugal Arte 10, by Daniel Silk on Aug 16, 2010 16:40:17 GMT 1, FROM FAILE -
Hello everyone,
Hope you're having a great Summer. Just a quick email to share the Faile Temple created in conjunction with Portugal Arte 10 in Lisbon. We've been working on this for some time as many of you know. After almost two years of concepts, sketches, grueling math, heavy lifting and three bouts of food poisoning (not in the Temple) it is finally here.
We've created a website for the project at www.failetemple.net
Most of the relevant information can be found there, including more about the exhibition, location and dates. We're happy to announce the installation has been extended until September 5th. If you have a chance to make it to Lisbon please stop by...
We're back in the studio now. Some exciting things coming up this Fall. We'll be exhibiting in New York this November with Perry Rubenstein Gallery, more details in the next month or so. Also we're happy to announce the Faile Prints + Originals 1999-2009 book through Gestalten coming out next month. An artist edition of 200 books will be released through the site in September along with launch parties in London and New York. Once details are confirmed we will pass them on.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the Summer and look forward to catching up in the Fall.
Thanks again to everyone in Portugal for helping make the Temple possible.
Very best, Faile
