TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by elwheel on Mar 5, 2009 22:32:34 GMT 1, Yahaaayyyyyyyyy! I'm back, I've done my porridge I've atoned for my ways. I feel rehabilitated and a better man. I've had time to study the errors of my ways and realise that posting a picture of a dog turd with the title 'not as good as... ' was the wrong thing to do and that in reality TOX09 is the most subversive, exciting and spiritually uplifting print that has ever been pulled. I'm truly glad for the moderators intervention and feel I have been saved from the ruinous path of free speech and fair comment. I am truly sorry for my scatological negativity. You guys rock.

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by baileymontana on Mar 24, 2009 9:11:59 GMT 1, This Tox print has really thrown up some interesting discussions. I noticed Cartrain stating that Tox steals paint on another thread and then getting an explanation how stealing paint is actually a significant part of graffitti culture. The fact that Tox is selling the print either means he's a hypocrite or more likely he "can't believe morons actually buy this ****". If you don't like the fact that Tox steals paints then buying his prints will more than likely help him pay for paint "honestly".
As much as I would prefer to see art on the street remain, I do feel anyone has the right to tag art if it's on the street. Taggers have as much right to promote their name as artists on public property. I find the covering of street art in perspex worse than tagging as it takes away the transient nature of the art. I hope Banksy gets back on the spot and does another good piece. That's what taggers do they make the artists fight for their place on the street, which I see as a good thing.
Taking on Nick Cotton's idea above I'm also still not convinced that if Banksy brought out a print of his with it officially tagged by Tox and 10 Foot most of the people criticising tagging would still buy the print (whether to sell on or keep). The hate for taggers would not stop most people here from making some money if it was "officially endorsed by Banksy". In my mind, this Tox print is forcing people to consider what is street art and also how you spend your money on it.

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by chav on Mar 24, 2009 9:18:27 GMT 1, I CANT BELIEVE YOU MORONS ACTUALLY BUY THIS **** THERES DEFINATELY A MORAL THERE, AYE? I RECON MOST PEOPLE WOULD BUY DOG**** IF IT WAS SIGNED. IF PEOPLE ARE GENUINELY UPSET ABOUT THIS PRINT YOU CAN ALWAYS GO OUT AND NICK A COUPLE OF STREET SIGNS WITH THE ORIGINAL TAG ON (HAND FINISHED), QUICK BEFORE SOME NUTJOB COMES AROUND PUTTING PERSPEX ON EVERY TOX TAG IN LONDON. ON ANOTHER NOTE: MAYBE SOS CAN GET 10 FT ON BOARD & DO A SIGNING WHERE COLLECTORS BRING IN THERE FAVOURITE PRINTS & HAVE HIM DO HIS THROW UP OVER THE PRINTS? HOW HIP WOULD THAT BE. ON ANOTHER, NOTHER NOTE: WHOEVER MENTIONED PARLA & YUPPIE COLLECTORS, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT JOSE PARLA'S CANVASES ARE BUILT UP FROM TAGGING & BOMBING, THE SAME. IF THESE PEOPLE WASN'T DESTROYING PEOPLES WORK I WOULDNT TAKE ISSUE. FAIR PLAY ON THE BOMBING SIDE OF THE CULTURE BUT TO DESTROY OTHER PEOPLES WORK WHO ARE TRYING TO BUILD & CALL THEM ART FAGS BUT RELEASE A BLOODY SCREEN PRINT THROUGH AN ART FAG ROUTE IS THE REAL INSULT! HOW ANTI CAPITALIST IS THAT? WHERE DO PEOPLE STOP BEING SILLY? ART OR BULLs**t?
Hey Dot, why don't you open your own forum account instead of using Nicks?

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by andypandy on Mar 24, 2009 10:44:57 GMT 1, i have been trying to work this out for a few weeks now - but i still cant.
sorry to those who take offence but maybe if this was Β£30-Β£40 people may have been interested but Β£75 for a screenprinted tag.
surely i am not a pessamist
for a first screenprint release it is pony imo - but as they say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
cant wait to see them framed !?

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by Deleted on Mar 24, 2009 10:58:13 GMT 1, sorry Ron for the more pedantic amongst us, I count that release as 'part' of this, as in screen prints of the Tox tags for the decade, and so of course we should give mention to the canvases too... but if anyone thinks there will be anymore releases from Tox after this, you'd be wrong

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by shower on Mar 24, 2009 12:48:37 GMT 1, i quite like the frame on the SOS site but yours looks good mike. its got to be plain black box or something over the top and the opposite style to the tag. im still tempted by one of these, shame they arent a bit cheaper.
