TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by grantb on Mar 3, 2009 13:32:36 GMT 1, i dont think its the fact what it looks like but for what it represents. to some people tox is inspiring. people often get trains around london and see the amount of paint his gone through. he is londons most prolific and i love seeing the tag. Do you find dog s**t inspiring too? London must have some of the most prolific mongrels on the planet - their s**t gets everywhere. I must admit, whenever I step in a freshly laid turd, I often find myself contemplating the amount of pedigree chum the "artist" must have got through to produce it.
no. i said to some people...did i mention me ? but i do admit he is inspiring. because of how up he is.

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by imbue on Mar 3, 2009 14:11:41 GMT 1, To be honest, I think it's a big joke and the joke is on us...
All the proper graffer's and true bombers hate this whole "urban art" scene that's why they call street artist 'Art Fags' they think we are stealing the culture.
Someone probably said to TOX "yeah mate just do screen print of your tag, and I bet all them art fag mugs will probably buy it"
I like TOX, I like graff I like tagging, but this is just a joke at our expense.

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by Karl Read on Mar 3, 2009 14:46:40 GMT 1, I have to admit, if it was a banksy tag, i would buy it. I think Banksy has done more to justify putting out just a tag as a screenprint than what Tox has IMO. To be honest dont see anything wrong in the Tox screenprint, definitely not for me, but if thats what your in to and your from London then why not. To be honest i thought they would be gone by now.

Interesting post. For similar reasons I would never pay for Morons as a print. It's a great image but not for my wall. I do like the idea of SOS and Tox doing this though. If Gavin Turk can sign a brick, I think it works having a screenprint of a hugely prolific tagger. All this is a good reminder to us all that tagging is a huge part of the roots of "Urban" art.

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by Happy Shopper on Mar 3, 2009 15:58:57 GMT 1, what if it was a Banksy Tag? Was thinking exactly the same
A few months ago someone posted a picture of a Banksy tag on a piece of board, taken from a club in Bristol, and asked it's value. He was fairly roundly told it was worthless, as a signature/tag has no value on it's own. Interesting though that this Tox print has thrown up the "issue" of a tag being a piece of art in it's own right.

For fucks sake this forum's dedicated to a criminal.
Pathetic cowards hiding behind keyboards sending hate mail, suppose it's "good" hate mail hey like your "good" vandalism and your "good" law breaking not that nasty bad criminal vandalism like Tox.
Any idea why the original post (Beejoir) is missing MM ?

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by Martin Whatson on Mar 3, 2009 16:50:49 GMT 1, I understand people dont like it for what it is, but to send emails like that to SOS is just stupid!
I cant believe people actually supporting stencils done illegaly (take a look at the two 'new banksy' threads on here that people go mental over) and not supporting graffiti or tags! I know there is a difference in quality in both stencils and tags/graffiti. There is good and bad artist in both scenes! As far as I know, if it had not been for illegal graffiti this forum wouldnt have been here, and banksy would probably be a carpenter or something! What I mean is, people like to recognize streetart/stencils as acceptable, but hate graffiti because it destroys the cities!! As for me, a good tag can do much more for me on the streets then a coloruful piece or a big stencil!
Anyone is allowed to love or hate it, but some of those comments is waay out!!

If you like it as an... image??? Then buy it I guess.

Could you please explain your logic ?
Before anyone asks yes ive ordered a copy of this print, to me it represents graffiti in its purest form and IMO the people that have bombarded SOS with hate mail should geta grip, its a disgrace

The one with the snale also has tox in it, the guys tags are on most of the Banksy crude oils too. IMO artists within this scene have been taking themselves too seriosly for a long time, so what he trashed the memorial piece...exactly how long was it supposed to last ?? Im shaw Banksy and ozone are much more happy that the piece went like this instead of being coverd in perspex or touched up by the council.

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by bmjt on Mar 3, 2009 19:55:48 GMT 1, Tagging only serves to reduce street art to its lowest form and give it a bad name, evoking the fear in communites; as a sign of incivility and decay, which drives government programs to remove street art in all its forms, (bar Banksy on a few occasions) They should be derided, not celebrated.
