NICK WALKER BRONX MURAL?, by aniohevotah on Nov 4, 2008 15:03:19 GMT 1, Glad to see people dig this thread....jeezus...I should get promoted for this...THE FIRST ROOFTOP PIX taken yesterday!!! and some info....Nick Walker directly contacted this school and offered a FREE paintjob because he 'Loved the location' and that it's an art school for young kids...he apparently showed them a pic of the image he wanted to paint...they said hell yes and 2 days later Nick and a handful of 9 year olds from the South Bronx were primering the white square!!
Thanks to Ms. Evelyn (The principal) and Jose (groundskeep) for the rooftop access and bit of scoop....they also said it took him one long day to do as he was painting through the night......The piece is even doper from upclose...simple and timeless....ok I'm done and off to work...Enjoy!!! ;D ;D ;D

The frame and hands on the 1st piece sets it off perfectly & in the 2nd piece the 'deckled edge' effect works so well rather than block white against the red brick. It really gives the piece depth when viewed.
Big props to for Nick 'getting up' in NY!
