Failes in Town!, by snakes on Nov 3, 2008 23:52:25 GMT 1, I met someone several months ago who removes graffiti within Central London for a living. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to this scene and I shall therefore not mention how much he manages to top up his minimal salary with his sales in Street Art!
All I could manage to say when he said was "wow".

Failes in Town!, by romanywg on Nov 4, 2008 0:19:18 GMT 1, I don't know where the information came from that they have all gone. I think you'll find that it's misinformation. I ran into two of the Faile crew that pasted them up last night and they told me that the first 5 they had put up had been stolen (I'm guessing these were the ones on the Hackney Road) I know the 4 that were on Sclater Street have been pinched but the other 24 that I photographed were still there at 5pm this evening.

So, because you found and photographed 28 pieces, then that must be all they put up? That's a rather arrogant assumption. And if, as you say, I'm misinforming, then I'd best not believe anything Faile tell me ever again.
You said "This thread should be re-named 'Faile were in town' as almost every single one of the paste ups are now gone." But that's slight hyperbole as at least 28 pieces were still up at 5pm. I'm sorry if it sounded arrogant. God forbid!

Oooh I don't know that they would be worthless. I would rather have one of those street paste ups (in a mrframeman special) than any of the POW unsigned prints anyday as a bit of City of London grime beats coffee any day. Everything these days has a price

They would be impossible to remove in one piece as Pure Evil has said 'they have been slashed with a scalpel to stop people taking them off the wall.'

Failes in Town!, by romanywg on Nov 5, 2008 22:21:26 GMT 1, Still 18 up that I could find today, maybe more (Just ask Little Bird). I walked from Vauxhall to Hackney today and nothing that I could find in Lambeth near the venue but some great places for a pasteup. Pity they are all in the East End. If you need to know where they are and have posted on this topic then pm me and I will let you know. Flickr updated www.flickr.com/photos/romanywg/sets/72157608626111961/

It's terrible these are being taken from the streets (if that is the case). Pretty soon all our beloved street artists will be forced to only show in galleries where everyone will moan & whine about the prices and that they don't have access to the work!
