Although not a record I'd probably buy or listen to on its own, I still find it interesting.

The music is also a great complement to the video.

And it's the ideas and choreography of the video which do impress me.

Of specific note is the psychopathy of Glover's persona. Especially when combined with his charm — which, despite being at odds with common psychopath stereotypes, is in fact one of their characteristic traits.

Just been sorting through some of my old dj mixes and ended up listening start to finish through one which wasn't too bad. I think it was made from tracks mostly in the Verve Remixed series. (Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald etc.) It's one of a few I uploaded to mixcloud a while back, if anyone else is into that sound.

Interesting, I realized this was important when I first saw it, sent it to a musician friend who's had hits and liked it, but said he liked it for what it was, but that there was no song there really. I said it was like a modern day "The Message" to which he performed a bit off the top of his head to prove his point.

I am aware that my musical selection is coincidentally on theme with this forum, but this song has been stuck in my head for days
