The END was another firm favourite. Saw Jeff Mills, Slam, Jazzy Jeff and many more there.......happy days.

Best night i had out, was at satellite club, nine elms lane, my gals sister was running it with graham gold... Got messy all night with Norman Jay, then back to his flat for fun and (well you can imagine) didn't get home until mid day Monday ;D

I hadn't heard that before... it's rather 'influenced' by this Arthur Russell classic!

What Music are you listening to at the moment ?, by Prescription Art on Nov 11, 2011 20:44:34 GMT 1, Well with a lot of house being built on sampling it's inevitable that many tracks are built around earlier soul, funk & disco records. I think that Underground Solution track makes creative use of the sample & turns it into quite a different track. There's a fair few people that have made careers out of basically robbing from old and obscure tracks though! I've found people like Groove Armada guilty of this on a few occasions!

There's a fair few people that have made careers out of basically robbing from old and obscure tracks though! I've found people like Groove Armada guilty of this on a few occasions! Completely agree. You can trace house and hip hop all the way back to jazz/blues. There is very little that is new, just new people and a new mix of styles... I'm all up for creative sampling - I was 11 in '82 when got the first StreetSounds "Electro" LP, which was my first taster of sampling/sequencing and haven't looked back since, right through 80's soul, house, hip hop, hardcore, jungle and so on. But raping classics just ain't on, the worse offender at the moment is David Guetta - who has made some awesome tracks in the past and should know better - churning out utterly weak crap to any rapper/R&B "star" stupid enough to chuck money at him. Shame on him!
PS. Nice selection of track people of the forum

Lolllll I live on the wrong side of the pond. I am a Londoner, didn't get to visit America till I was 17/18 (when I was that age I looked all of 13 so you can imagine the aggravation I got on clubs of doors over in the US). If I could've gone, I would've gone. Believe me!!
Man, I bet you have some tales to tell
Colenel Abrams still does it for me, I was listening to some of his old stuff the other day...
