Crazy Jake ๐บ๐ธ Michael Jacob, by Michael Jacob on Dec 16, 2009 15:39:03 GMT 1, The winner is BUNNYBOY. Congratulations. My next post below will show entire sequence of numbers.
Here is the piece. Its titled FAIL MARY. It is my first proof of a series I will be doing. Each piece in the series will be unique, and based on different medicines for different cures. There will be ones for general pain, headaches, cancer, weightloss, sleep aid, sex aid, etc, etc. My first one will be titled FAIL MARY: CEPHALGIA. Its the headache version. Ive been doing it with real Tylenol pills. The main pieces are Tylenol regular, while the separating pieces are Tylenol maximum strength. Im just wondering for legal reasons, if I should use real pills or mimic them using fakes painted to look similar (without brand names on them). Any ideas to this concern would help.
This piece came to mind, seeing the countless drug stores and pharmacies everywhere I look. Where towns used to be anchored by chapels and tall steeples, now i see 2 or 3 drug stores on every major corner. we have become reliant on medicine for just about everything we do. This piece is made with generic pill capsules, glass beads, silver plated beads and strung together with coated stainless steel wire.
I hope to be doing a show in the UK this spring. Im still trying to find the right gallery to help and partner with. It will have some of these as well as many other pieces, exploring religion. There will be a few canvases, a few prints, and a bronze sculpture edition which is coming along great.
Thanks again to all the support Ive received from this forum. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

Crazy Jake ๐บ๐ธ Michael Jacob, by Michael Jacob on Feb 25, 2010 15:08:59 GMT 1, Greetings! Here is my newest piece. The title is โREDEMPTION.โ This piece is an edition of 10. Size is approximately 26x42x4cm. Each piece is unique and hand signed. Cost is 40 Pounds, plus 10 Pounds shipping. If you are interested, please PM me. As always, thanks to Silky, the forum, and the forum members for all the support you have given me over the years. This is where it all started for me!
Ive been working on a lot of religious based pieces for an coming show. This includes canvases, bronze sculptures, prints and more. I plan on doing two larger sized editions of REDEMPTION for the show. A medium size, with an edition of 5; and one large with an edition of 1.
To see some of my older stuff, go to michaeljacobstudio.com. I started selling art with my forum name of crazy jake. At the request of my wife, she prefers my real name... go figure Currently, everything on the site is sold out. The only exception is the "In Case of Peace" bottles which were halted due to technical issues. Im still working on those to be released at a later date.
Thanks again for looking! Crazy Jake aka Michael Jacob ;D

Crazy Jake ๐บ๐ธ Michael Jacob, by froz on Feb 25, 2010 16:57:32 GMT 1, Mike,
I think its a very interesting piece. especially how you use the correlation of redemption of god and the redemption of coupons as both saviors of one another. Especially in this economy I know that coupons when you redeem also are saviors to my wallet!
I would be curious if the piece was a little more colorful with coupons that weren't just white if you would still see the cross as much or if you would just see the coupons then look at the cross as a secondary element.
Nice piece, looks like it took a while to make.

Crazy Jake ๐บ๐ธ Michael Jacob, by nigelbgg on Mar 15, 2010 4:33:16 GMT 1, Sorry but the finish on the cross seems a bit GCSE for me, you've got to be really careful if you're going to make a career out of art, these pieces will come back to bite you. Maybe think about selling them in deep white box frames or coating them with deep thick gloss UV resistant varnish. I find that people want to buy things that they can't make themselves.
