I saw s-editions post today and dr.ds great print. also on that thread was a post by Pure Evil showing a cuffs prints. Its very similar to what Ive been working on, and I thought mine was unique... . I didnt want to highjack that thread, but wanted to show you my print coming out next week. Below is the photo collage I made. Its getting digitally printed on RIVES heavyweight paper. Its qiute large. Im then hand painting the background and rings. The rings will be the appropriate colors. It will only be an edition of three. I did a study of it with oil paints and it was way to overpowering. Im now thinking watercolors to keep it soft. Cheers!

I agree with Harveyn - this one and the Obama print (which I've already raved about somewhere else) are really strong images. I prefer your take on the handcuffs to the other one that was posted as it looks much simpler and much cleaner. As for colours though I really like it just as it is - I can't see what adding the ring colours will add to it if I'm honest. Will you be doing a plain silver version too?

I bought three sets of handcuffs and had a tough time getting them to work. I then took an image of one handcuff (that I actually found online) and collagaed it together. I really wanted to get the rings connected and intertwined like the real logo. I also added different chains, the real ones looked to weak. The print itself will look a little more sketched. The background will be one solid color. One of the three prints will have stars in it, to look like a Chinese flag. Each of the cuffs will be painted (blue, yellow, black, green and red).

Im playing around with gold paint for one of them. I liked the idea of one of the cuffs having dripping gold paint on it. Most times, we would think of blood, but in this version I would call it "go for the gold." Im going to start painting this weekend. Ill post all three at one time for everyone to see. Thanks again!

Update 2: After this Olympic print, Ive got a really cool canvas going. I must admit, its my favorite piece that Ive ever done. Its called "at what price?".

I purchased one of CJ's Obama prints and really like this too.

I agree with seidbereit - looks great as it is, but would like to see how the colouring looks.

I think a lot of artists will pick up on this subject in the coming months as well as PE & Dr.d.

How much will these cost CJ?

The handcuffs look too much like kids toy ones to me. In the 'inspired' photo they look more like the real deal.
Look forward to seeing the finished print in colour though.

Does anyone have a severely damaged Banksy print they would be interested in selling (so bad, you wouldnt even hang it)? The worse condition the better. It can even be torn, ripped or incomplete. No condition to bad. It needs to be real, with provenance, no back door prints. THANKS!!!
