FAILE BOOK IMPORT DUTY PROBLEM., by Brushstrokes 75 on Dec 3, 2010 22:44:49 GMT 1, Unfortunately for me, in France, books are taxable at a reduce rate of 5.5%. But the thing is that they are taxing on the full amount. Cost of the book + shipping. If any item has a value that is less than 45 euros, it's exempted. I think that here it was 50 euros.
They can wait before they'll get your money lol
I already had ad similar problem with books from Japan! They charged me full VAT instead of the reduced rate. I'm still waiting for the customs to reimburse me lol. It's been 6 months that I sent my reclamation....
