VB Fine Art and Dale Marshall are delighted to announce the release of a new, hand finished edition that will be available in two sizes, available from 7pm.
Dale Marshall has been settled in the west of Ireland for almost two years working towards fulfilling his vision of a creating a simple and creative life of producing art and self sustainability via near โoff gridโ living.
Dale lives in a stunning and scenic area where his young familyโs cottage and art studio overlooks the spiritual site of the Carrowkeel Megalithic Tombs in Co Sligo. The district is also known as Yeats County, named after the famous Irish poet.
As with his previous work, Dale has a keen interest for controlled institutions, and in Ireland he was drawn to the stories in the media of recent times surrounding the famous โMagdalene Laundriesโ which operated from the 18th to the late 20th centuries.
Arguably the most depicted women in the history of Western culture and marking a departure from Daleโs previous abstract work, here Mary Magdalene references both the Magdalene laundries of Irelandโs past, and the struggles of women both past and present that we hear in the media on a daily basis. The faceless Mary in this image represents all women and is an ode to their strength and heritage.
This beautiful edition is hand finished to a very high level, making each work essentially a unique. The work is completed with matt texture acrylic, giving the print beautiful 3D texture. The aims were to produce a multiple that took the work back to the original rather than the original to multiple and this has worked splendidly.

I just love the passion he has for what he does. I imagine he goes through massive highs and lows as each work evolves. I do hope that he is finding new inspiration from his newly adopted country, Ireland. |
