Good day WIZBONG. You must be talking about the purchase questionnaire that he setup on the site for his originals?
I must agree the concept is interesting and "novel" as you say but from a business perspective it's not always that effective to turn down sales or be so strict about who buys your work or for the possible intention of them re-selling it at a later time? In the interview I posted in the previous comment (http://arrestedmotion.com/2009/04/interview-above-street-art-arrow-mobile-stencil-word-play-releases-union-jack-arrows/) ABOVE talks about the power of money and how the current economic situation could be a good reality check for people and what is important to them. Above is perhaps too naive or pure in his approach about the fact that he wants to sell his artworks to people that have a genuine interest and not to someone who immediately wants to "flip" it for double the price. We all know this is how many secondary markets exists but you can't blame Above for wanting to try his best to sift through that with his questionnaire? Or maybe you can?

While many blogs have posted about Above's recent UNION JACK ARROWS, its very affordable price, and fact that Above designed and printed everything himself. It must be said that one of the most popular topics for discussion is and has been the orange and green edition and it's striking resemblance to England's neighbour Ireland's flags colours. There seems to be a lot of controversy in defense of both countries which makes for some good talk.

We appreciate the comments and the recent purchases on many of your behalf. It is nice to know even during this economic "slump" that a personalized hand made print from a street artist can still be appreciated and received.

Strength: Love the Arrows and think that the reflection looks cool.
Weakness: Personally cant afford one right now.

Overall: Love Above's stuff, got the 2 and 2 together one through not too long ago and was very happy, is the embossing a new thing?

We are aware of the current economic situation and this is why Above decided to cut back the price to what it is now. 69 pounds for regular and 99 pounds for the special editions. We think this is more than affordable for the amount of time and image of this print. We are pleased to read that you were able to get 1 of the "2 and 2 2gether" prints before they sold out. To answer your question about the embosser, yes Above custom designed and invested in a very large embosser for all of his current and future prints. The appearance looks sharp and classy.

Is this next weeks task for the apprentice? I can imagine Alan Sugar challenging them to come up with some urban art and this being the result...And `Karen` being summoned back to the boardroom to explain how the loses were down to an economic downturn.

Ahh but Karents team spent 6 hours on the tagging and only 1 hour on the main design..Poor time management....Still its hard to refuse at £70. Reminds me, I have to pop into Peacocks after work and buy 100 pairs of pants because they are only 59p each.

Jones27: I love your humour about the Alan Sugar challenge and fact that only 1 hour was spent on the design and 6 on the tags. Maybe it was more like 2 and 5 hours instead? I think if this was just the basic union jack arrow printed on say 50x50 paper, then it would be a hit! ;D

With it being like a print of a photo showing Above's work it just sort of looses its edge
