Tavar Zawacki ๐บ๐ธ Above Street Art โข Print Release, by Above Posters on Mar 5, 2013 21:53:49 GMT 1, Hello Banksy forum members. I just got this question on both the Expresso beans and the Giant forum boards. Let me introduce myself to you and the other forum members. My name is Jessica and I'm now taking over the posting on forum boards for Above's artworks. Yes, Karen was fired as Above didn't feel she was posting correctly and making his appearance on these forum boards reflect negative on his art. We are now working together on changing a lot of new positive aspect of how I post about his new releases. Admittedly I'm on these forum boards to post about new works from Above but I actually have an interest for prints and many artists on these forum boards so I will be trying to partake in other threads as well As you have seen by my previous post Above is working on a new print with many layers. He and I talked about his interest for me to post new images of his process of this print for all of you to see and enjoy. My intention is not to spam like Karen previously did but to instead inform and show you actually interesting images of upcoming works from Above. On behalf of Above I want to say thank you all for your love, interest and support. 2013 is shaping up very nice and we hope to offer you beautiful prints from Above. Jess'

Tavar Zawacki ๐บ๐ธ Above Street Art โข Print Release, by swamped on Mar 6, 2013 9:54:35 GMT 1, Enough with all the ass kissing love and thanks and b lahhh.. above dose nice work it speaks for itself without the kiss up layed on so thick. When you talk about Karen being fired and for specific reasons mentioned it comes off quite fake and shallow, why would above want you to air his personal affairs, even if it went down like that how about she was let go for creative differences, same b.s just not as cheeky sounding...gl all the same just lay off the sunshine up the rear a little..how about a price for this little gem he did?

Tavar Zawacki ๐บ๐ธ Above Street Art โข Print Release, by Above Posters on Mar 6, 2013 19:12:35 GMT 1, I've been reading all of the comments about my previous post about Karen. Most of you were already aware that she was not doing the best job posting on the forum. This would reflect negatively towards Above and his prints so Above let her go. As Tinmar just wrote, I'm now taking over and trying to rebuild and come correct with posting and communication with forum members. I look forward to helping answer any questions any of you might have about this print. Jess

Tavar Zawacki ๐บ๐ธ Above Street Art โข Print Release, by doyle on Mar 6, 2013 20:28:59 GMT 1, hi Jess,it's great that you have an interest in the industry and are looking to post and participate too, that's a great move forward. i do remember Karen posting pages and pages of pictures, and yes, it was for me, a bit too much. i personally don't like to see lots of pictures of a step by step process an artist goes through as there needs to be a little bit of mystery. the final pic and maybe 1 or 2 pics more mid-way would be enough, i think, unless members ask for more pics/detail. not knowing prices/how many in the edition run after flicking through 18 pictures is a bit annoying, so i'd have all the info ready to hand before posting if appealing to potential collectors.great print though, lots more detail than before, great work.

Tavar Zawacki ๐บ๐ธ Above Street Art โข Print Release, by loucastel on Mar 6, 2013 21:12:33 GMT 1, Have to admit, when this first went up I thought how nice a Marilyn print, thats original, never been done before, but seeing the finished print, it is a bit different, and it seems to be growing on me.
As regards, people being sacked etc, not interested, the guys work will surely stand or fall on it's own merits without it being "bigged up" by a load of spiel from someone who doesn't even have a clue to price etc

Great feedback Doyle. This is an interesting point we did not consider about posting images without the price or edition size information ready. Above had started this print with 20 sheets of paper and during the 24 layers I assume many will not make the final cut. I don't know how many he feels are up to his standards? Sorry but I don't have the edition size or price at this time. I do know the size of the print is 18 x 24 inches or 45cm x 60
This print has 24-layers and since Above is hand painting each differently I assumed forum members would appreciate to see this process, and difference of print colors. Was I incorrect in assuming you wanted to see process photos? Could I get some other forum members to express how I should go about showing this series. Above is printing the normal edition and I was intending to post more process photos of this edition in the coming days. I don't intend to cram down your throats tons of images so if you just want me to post the final image I could very easily do this. Forum members, please give me some of your suggestions about how you would prefer me to post.

Tavar Zawacki ๐บ๐ธ Above Street Art โข Print Release, by Deleted on Mar 7, 2013 1:16:54 GMT 1, It's a public forum. There are always a few vocal opinions and many many more silent onlookers.
I say do what you like.
Though, personally, I like the studio/printers shots, scrolling forever to keep up with the thread can be tedious. We have the same issue with people quoting posts with 8 photos in other threads as well. Maybe pick one or two of the most interesting photos to share.
GL, the prints are looking good.
Just one random guy's opinion.

Above is a cool globe trotting artist and his arrows are Royalty. Process shots are great ( imho ) but this just seems to be precisely what Karen was doing and that didn't seem to work. Seems a bit too much like hyping a forthcoming release instead of showing how a finished run of prints were produced.Especially when there's no idea of edition size or price. Pretty much what Doyle said. The prints look great and I'm sure they'll be popular. Good luck in your position Jess and welcome to the forum.

This would answer any questions in addition to saving everyone's time scrolling through this thread. On Above's shop section there is a blog roll where I will continue to post frequently for those interested to see the in between bits. I will leave the forum threads for just the meat and potatoes about the new release.

I love the colors of the reversed, but having all the text reversed makes me dizzy. I too like the pink just slightly over the blue. I did think it would be interesting to put the reverse print opposite a mirror in a house so you could see the reversed texts, normal. Up side is that Marilyn's face does look sexy either normal or reversed.

Tavar Zawacki ๐บ๐ธ Above Street Art โข Print Release, by Graham H on Mar 28, 2013 23:46:17 GMT 1, Did anyone take up the offer of this today and buy one?.. I just couldn't bring myself to buy it.. Something about that font on the top wording put men off.
Looked to me like they went pretty much straight away.. Just surprised not heard more on here
