Manson Storm x Banksy, by Mason Storm on Jul 16, 2010 9:49:01 GMT 1, Although he's not the greatest artist in the world from a technical point his work became popular because of his anti establishment stance at the highly original placement of his work.
Then he earned a few quid and really upped his game, the Lady Justice Statue, Pictures on walls in National Galleries and Museums etc, the wall in the Middle East, the One Nation under CCTV, Crows on Surveillance cameras etc etc and that really cemented him as the top man in the field.
However recently nothing more than the odd stencil on a public wall with a danger level of about zero.
Then after stating he does not exhibit in galleries he does the big museum show in Bristol. This was not aimed at "giving something back", this was all aimed at self promotion, I mean he even paid for the advertising space for the 'Exit Through The Gift Shop' Film, thats not very anti establishment.
If Banksy wants to remain relevant in the world of Graffitti/Underground/Outsider art he is really going to have to come up with something truly original again!
Either that or take up retirement!

TBH as soon as a artist makes a website and has a forum dedicated to them, surly thats the point they are no longer underground ?

Please inform me if there are many other 'graffiti' artists that bother to touch on social commentary the same way he does ? I mean I find it hard to remember the last time he did a piece just for the sake of of painting a pretty picture on the wall ?

tbh dont really care, it still represents him and the ethos that he has stood for since ive been into his work
Do I think Mr Kipling still makes his cakes ? no... do I still enjoy eating them... oh yes, I sure do.
Out of interest can we see the the huge amount of work that you have produced in the same period ?

well for one the love doctor is checking on the state of peace and love, maybe saying that we currently have too much hate in the world ? or can you not see what is on the wall ? The point is, im trying to have a discussion with you but you you just want to be a smart arse and dont bother actually thinking about other peoples opinions... or listen too them

Just seems like another robbo thing if you ask me, kinda petty. History is what it says it is, if you cant leave things in the past maybe you are your own problem ? and maybe you shoud 'out' yourself ?
