I don't blame you in the slighest mate, I'd feel so smug with myself if I nabbed one.

He was 100% a local passing by on the way after a few too many sherbets
Funnily enough 1 of the group of animals had a split lip and bloody nose. I was with the guy who got attacked for a couple of minutes and 'all' i noticed was a couple of small bumps on him
I think one of the gang fell on my hand a couple of times pardon french but 4 fucking people against 1 makes my blood boil. It's ok in soho but not commercial street

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by eastonpromise on Dec 12, 2010 16:20:47 GMT 1, Wizbong- the guy that got beaten up by the group was a drunk walker by, not sure what started it but nothing warrants being attacked 4 people to 1 three times in 5 minutes.
In the end he managed to get away and was still upright. Apart from the scumbags already mentioned I spoke to a lot of the people in the queue at commercial street and Soho and a good chunk of them seemed to be there for the right reasons.
as for this Grafik chap with his multitude of post whining left right and centre......You say you live in the area so surely you might of guessed that this sort of thing was going to happen and its a dog eat dog world. wasnt it you that leaked the photos of the basemant so are partially responsible for the hype/ early queue? If I was POW i wouldnt sell you a postcard let alone listen to your crying especially considering that you have been outed as boasting on other forums about how many prints you flipped. Pffffft

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by pelle on Dec 12, 2010 16:23:38 GMT 1, Dodgy serial flippers basically. Over the years of collecting, i've filled these scumbags pockets to own half my collection
If you've contributed to making them a tidy profit over the years, surely it isn't a surprise that they will come back for more, nor that they will start using harder means to make their profit as competition grows.
Seems to me that those who choose to buy from flippers contribute as much to this development as the flippers themselves?

print numbers 1-3 were held back, I am guessing they are for the archive and Banksy
and not for a suprise drop

It all seems simple to me. Higher security for the queue. No overnight place holders. No letting friends in. Online, require mailing address & credit card info at the time of registration.

unless you invented a quiz on the door that you had to answer!
one guy at the front thought at 8am he was getting a photo, must have had a shock when he got a shitty screenprint.

First off, that was meant as a general "you", not aimed solely at you.
Secondly, to answer your question: Many of us have bought prints on the secondary market from other collectors or one-man galleries, and I don't necessarily see that as a problem.
But if people pay over the odds for a bit of paper right after release, then obviously someone is going to move in on that market. So if you really have knowingly "filled these scumbags pockets to own half [your] collection", then it would stand to reason that you have indeed helped create their market, don't you think?

Okay thanks for clearing that up. I see your point. Would never buy directly after release. Stupidly overpriced on ebay right now. Much of my past buying has mostly been through some very genuine forum members and a long while after release. Just having a moan really as like many didn't want to have to yet again pay a fortune to get one on my walls.

I say credit card number needed at time of lottery registration, this will eliminate many of the multiple email entries by one person. Its easy to get 10 email address's but not as easy to get 10 credit card numbers. If you dont have a credit card then tough luck, get one.
