Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Deleted on Dec 15, 2010 0:27:58 GMT 1, My dearest Wiz,
We've known each other for some time and, although we have never met, I have come to regard you as a friend.
I do not have a classical training in art but, in the words of someone, probaby famous 'I do know what I like'.
Can I ask a favour?
Is there any chance you can change your avatar?
It is giving me the eebie jeebies, and, I don't like them.
With kindest regards for a festive Shropshire yuletide,
Yours, as ever,
Adam.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by wizzy on Dec 15, 2010 0:39:50 GMT 1, i too put in for a red, no luck here, and i have seen no one mention getting a red anywhere ive been following, strange, maybe ill still get an email! have POW said anything about all prints being sold/emails sent etc? hoping for a "white" xmas, i know ill be f5'ing the page on xmas day!
If you look in chapter 9 of volume 11 on this thread someone does mention they have a Red one, i assume its the print he was referring to.

The reason you dont have a CYW is because you didnt push back, you let these people take the proverbial out of you and because you did, you blame POW for it. If you scored you wouldnt be moaning thats for sure - funny how the ones who did, arent complaining, while those who didnt are. POW always have made an effort - just not to your expected high standards. you lucked out - go and help out in a soup kitchen or do some volunteer work to help the homeless over christmas, then you will realise how lucky you really are. Y'know what you ain't really selling yourself in a positive light here!
Pro POW then?

Cant believe people are handing over this kinda cash for a print barely dry...NO blindstamp...NO coa.....
This could seriously end in tears

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by recycle on Dec 15, 2010 1:57:00 GMT 1, Oh the joys of the internet..... If i lost fair and square i would not be complaining, i don't have a Nola or Donuts and never had an issue with that, the reason i do not have a CYW is because i chose not to behave like an animal. I have a NBG hanging on my wall which was a great experience for me, this was just a disgusting experience which ever way you look at it. No POW are not reponsible for people acting like thugs but they could have made at least half an effort. Tickets, barriers, up to date information, staff about even if it was just to observe take photos etc. Name me one instance of POW making even the slightest effort on this release? grow a pair will you and stop banging on like you are some sort of victim. Grow a pair, are you serious??? The reason i left was so both myself and my mate didn't start kicking off and get arrested for getting into a fight. So you are basically saying that it would have been ok for me to stick around and start digging people in the head, wow i'm glad i don't live in your world and rose above the situation.
Oh by the way do feel free to come and tell me to grow a pair at the next release, i'll even tell you where in the queue i am.....
And for your information POW didn't do shit, so stop brown nosing them!

The high ebay sales will be fake.
Very little will actually be changing hands this week.

Simply because the people selling them are generally crooks, and the people buying them are generally not thick as pig5hit.
Theres no way someone would blow multiple thousands on one of these just because of a small stock photo from POW on ebay. They dont even have coa's, something thats become a standard request with all 2nd hand Banksy sales.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Dave on Dec 15, 2010 9:49:18 GMT 1, There are loads more to hit eBay, I guarantee some people have up to 20 of these to sell on. When I was there on Saturday morning I could see the people at the front of the queue once they had their print all heading in the same direction. I spoke to someone else who said there was a range rover parked down the road being gradually filled with tubes.
Makes me sick, loads of people missed out because of this organised crime. These people will inflate the price then gradually move them on eBay. If I hadn't of queued there is no way I could afford to spend 3-4k on one.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by G-Man on Dec 15, 2010 9:58:04 GMT 1, As I missed out yet again this year i am interested to see where the prices of these will end up on Ebay... the ones that have sold so far are bound to be relisted as the first few auctions are obviously there to shill the prices up....
Not that many people will want a hoody on their wall compared to say a Nola or a NBG which were both much more 'family friendly' prints... and with so many colours also i reckon that these will be a similar price to other recent signed prints in Jan....
well here's hoping anyhow!

I think you are right. soup cans is being put forward as an example of high prices, but in reality they aren't that much higher than a number of other prints and are colourways of 10 other than the standard signed edition.
The ones that stand out for me so far are the yellow versions. I really like the look of them, but would have never thought about buying one at the outset (I don't have one btw).
it looks like purple is currently the flippers colour of choice

No chance, I think these will fall heavily from current prices but anything less than £2k will be a good buy for editions of 25 (and yes, I do have one, and no I'm not looking to sell so don't give a monkey's what the secondary price is on them )
EDIT: for the record, I hope you're right as I'm hoping to have a triptych of these on the wall by February.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by jdwheeler on Dec 15, 2010 12:02:34 GMT 1, Demand obviously massively outstrips supply when these are released.
All the asking prices on EBay are stupid.
POW should simply do a blind auction and the top 300 (or whatever) bids get a print.
Maximises any money for charity this way, destroys profit for flippers and eliminates anti-social queues.
You could also argue it is better for "true fans" as the end prices should be somewhere between release and flipper price making it more affordable for the majority (i.e. although more expensive than current, less go to flippers).

yes... if the odds of winning the banksy lottery is a million to one, then getting one 48 hrs later would be a million x a million to one.
mathematically speaking... i think...

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by naughtyshorty on Dec 15, 2010 12:50:13 GMT 1, low edition number vs lots of colourways. i have no idea where this will end up, but as has been said, demand massively outstripped supply here- it always seems to do so and thats not suprising given the film and all the international promos.. so based on that, i think most colours will be around the 2-3k mark, with a premium for whatever the market decides is the best colours...
