Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by waveydavey on Nov 29, 2010 10:43:32 GMT 1, Have I missed the part of the thread in which it is confirmed POW are selling this print via a queue? Although given I live in Stockholm, there is little chance of me making the queue!
Why not give it a go? As you live in Stockholm you would be better equiped for the weather than us lot over here. Also you won't need to rent a hotel as you will be spending all night out in the freezing cold.

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by mouk on Nov 29, 2010 10:50:29 GMT 1, Well if it's a queue in Soho then it will be happy pickings for our Bulgarian pick pocket and mugger friends as you can bet your bottom dollar that a high proportion of those in it will have at least ยฃ450 in their pockets.
F5 instead please so I can loose out to the faceless computer wizkids and wizbongs instead.

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by robinprint on Nov 29, 2010 11:13:39 GMT 1, Why can't POW release a print in some out of the way place e.g. the North of Scotland and then the rest of the world would stand a chance of getting one instead of having to spend hundreds and sometimes thousands of pounds, its alright for you guys who just roll out of bed and hop on a tube. Surely Banksy would find the humour in somewhere interesting.

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by G-Man on Nov 29, 2010 11:54:01 GMT 1, Dear Banksy, The solution is simple: Three colourways of 200 each. 1) Grey - Online lottery for overseas fans. ยฃ5 a ticket payable by credit card, address information proof of overseas residency. Profits to charity. 2) Green - Online lottery for UK residents. ยฃ5 a ticket payable by credit card, address information proof of domesticity. Profits to charity. Increases the chance of those unable to be part of 3 (and rewards your home based fans a little by increases their chances of success over and above those overseas). 3) Red - Reasonably late announcement of queue release. As the line forms, participants fill in a credit card form and these details to be verified at purchase (cash not acceptable). A Banksy spy monitors the queue, when 200 are in line (I'm guessing it will be quicker this year than last) those plucky die-hards are whisked away for a night of volunteering for charity, handing out blankets and soup etc to the real homeless. Thus the fairly pointless hours of waiting have a productive use. In this cold it would be a brilliant saviour for all those involved..... Simple. T
This I like... well thought out, POW should listen to this, especially the work for those queuing

that is actually a fantastic idea. I am hoping to queue for this and would be fully prepared to help out for the night instead of just sitting there in a sleeping bag on a bit of cardboard being unproductive....
anyhow - i'm just hoping that they give us notice enough. I will have to get time off work which is really not easy to do last minute as I will have to get someone to cover my shifts.....

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by dosharaithe on Nov 29, 2010 13:37:43 GMT 1, In principle the idea by Twinkle is a good one apart from the cards only in the queue bit.I am homeless and live on the streets and don't have a debit/credit card.I always manage to save up what money I have spare to buy a print for my nearest and dearest every Christmas and occasionally at other times too.I have stood in more than a dozen queues over the past 3 years so that I can get something that I know my friends and family would appreciate. To the best of my knowledge they all still possess them. There is an air of anxiety permeating through this forum, the usual human nature thing about possession. If you get a Banksy all well and good,if you don't its not the end of the world. The people who pay others to stand in the queue are the greedy b**tards, they should be shunned, exposed and weeded out.All these people want is to make a quick profit on eBay.I have listened to people in queues for a long time and a lot of it is about the profit, how sad.Banksy is an exceptionally gifted, thought provoking individual and deserves better than most of what these anxiety driven greedy s**m deserve. If he decided to sell a print done in his own excrement and other bodily fluids the same rubbish would be voiced as long as there was going to be profit in it.Relax,be calm think about dolphins floating in the sea.SEE YOU ALL IN THE QUEUE

Tell me to mind my own business but.......do you choose to be homeless as a lifestyle choice? Seems a bit odd that you have money to buy people Banksy prints for christmas presents but no money to rent a room. furthermore you have friends that will accept these gifts and then let you go and kip on the street after!

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by niaudiasbrother on Nov 29, 2010 14:05:52 GMT 1, There's no more to be concerned about queuing in Soho than there is queuing in Spitalfields.
Berwick Street isn't that busy after 7pm, so the police won't have much of a problem. The problems happen (Micallef anyone) in the morning when people rock up last minute trying to queue jump. PoW successfully dealt with this last year with their ticketing system.
The one problem I can see will be if PoW wait until the following morning to start selling the prints. A long queue on Berwick Street will get in the way of the shops and stall holders, which is something I think they'd like to avoid. Maybe if the queue snaked into Wardour Street it would be slightly better. I hope they do the right thing and open in the middle of the night e.g 4.00am? That way the whole thing could be sorted before the stall holders come in and a lot of people wouldn't have to suffer in the cold for longer than necessary.

Sorry but this doesnt add up. Unlike you im not on the streets but im sure if i was then i wouldnt be spending my money on prints. Obviously, i dont know the exact circumstances and iam just basing this from one paragraph. Also, if i was in this situation then i doubt my friends and family would accept these gifts knowing my situation. Im sure they would happily have something of minimal value or nothing at all and just the knowledge that i was safe and healthy. Strange, especially if you are not 100% they have kept the prints. If you do choose to be homeless then you probably have issues with human nature and possessions so iam also then surprised that you would choose something like this as a present. Sorry and i do feel for you if true but like i said my thoughts are based on one post and it was one of the most strangest posts ive read. Good luck.

Good luck.

If this is all correct, you have no banks account cards etc? but you manage to save up your spare cash to buy a Banksy print of allthings?. Im sorry for your circumstances but wouldnt you be better speding the money on something more benificial to your well being than to give a gift to your friends? Im sure they would see that as a fitting gift to them espicially in the Christmas period, knowing that you are warm and safe at this time of year. Personally if i was your friend and i received a Banksy print i couldnt look at it or even hang it knowing that you are living on the streets in order to purchase this?. hope you have a safe winter and a happy christmas what ever you decide.

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by twinkle on Nov 29, 2010 15:05:55 GMT 1, Let's all chill-out for a mo please. The homeless guy actually has a point. Last year I queued alongside a guy that had been homeless before. He was standing in line all night for his son, who turned up in the morning with his bank card to pay for the print. He told me over the years he had done several queues like this. Let's face it a homeless guy probably has more of an intimate relationship with street art than most of us will ever have.....
I still stand by my idea of allowing the die-hard fans who want to queue, and totally deserve a print, to do that and some good at the same time like and delivering stuff to the homeless. Anyone who doesn't have a creditcard can get POW pre-approval for cash etc (I'm sure Dora and Sam would have no probs with this). Otherwise taking the card details at the start of the night is the best way to stop the multi-flippers.
So, Mr B and POW, let's get it on and do some good at the same time.
