Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by naughtyshorty on Jan 9, 2011 1:10:22 GMT 1, I agree with this - just quite simply, if you really like a particular colour, be it red, yellow or pink, and you are hell bent on getting it, there are only going to a couple of opportunities to do so. and quite simply, that will cost what it costs..
Like he said to me after I told him how mental he was "Even if I sold them for 2k, 2k, 3k (top end) Where and when will I get a red of 25 for that ?" Needless to say I didnt argue. Just to put things into perspective his stone drive cost 65k more than my house !

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Dave on Jan 9, 2011 12:30:16 GMT 1, Just looking on eBay completed sales, the ones sold by seller mr.sloane have sold at 5.5k and bought by the same buyer. Freerange I remember you saying that one has sold on eBay for 5.5k whilst on your hype mission, well that's one of them sold by him..... I hate the way eBay is so easily manipulated.

this is quite interesting Dave, i'll disregard the whole JBOY argument for now as even if there is anything in that it's only one man.
now the sales you mention on ebay could be legit, after all SohoSteve on here already has two and is on the lookout for a third. in reality though i think it's safe to suggest that every BIN sale is open to abuse and i'd take them all with a fist of salt.
what fascinates me is that if these abuses were taking place then the seller trying to affect the market would have to pay a not inconsiderable sum to ebay in listing fees for the privilege - is this really sustainable? especially considering that a fair market value for the purple would appear to be £4-4.5K going by the two traditional auctions that have completed. if the BIN's were just someone trying to piss off a professional flipper who no doubt about it had people queueing up for him, then we should see these re-listed very soon, i'm with you Dave though on this and i think it's a blatant attempt to try and manipulate the market to suit their own ends.
and for the record, in his listing he infers that purple sold out very quickly, in fact Khaki was the first to go and slate and soft yellow were selling out far quicker than the purple when i went in although i agree that it has been popular since then. i just thought it was slightly misleading that's all

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Deleted on Jan 9, 2011 13:09:01 GMT 1, If he got them all at cost (£425 for Trolleys, £465 for Donuts and £450 for CYW) then for £1,340 he is getting a bargain.
on the other hand, you could say he is swapping £1340 worth of Banksys for a print worth £450.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Dave on Jan 9, 2011 13:15:05 GMT 1, All the seller has to do is say that the sale did not go through and once the buyer agrees then they do not incur any cost. A way to check it is see if feedback was left for the purchase then usually that would mean its legit as the seller would have to pay a fee, which in this case would be substantial.

of course, me neither - i was just making reference to all the stick he's getting for perceived hyping, not getting in to that one!

didn't realise that fees were waived when that happens, well then it's open to abuse on a significant scale!!
buyers beware IMO.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Deleted on Jan 9, 2011 17:01:48 GMT 1, I was under the general impression that the first few Banksy prints of any edition release go to the POW staff as their pension (I guess that they have one of everything?).
Anyone got / had a print numbered less than 5 / ? from them?

Perhaps POW will still see it as such, when the new owner of his new red print applies for a COA. I see where your coming from JV, but its a bit different than just selling for a profit. What POW will make of it, I have no Idea.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Deleted on Jan 9, 2011 17:12:54 GMT 1, i think on this occasion, with so many different colourways in small editions, keeping any more than 3 back on each colourway would be pushing it.
