Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by shakey1181 on May 19, 2011 9:23:45 GMT 1, I like the print, but gold with a gold frame a touch garish for me. I still think there are nicer colours out there.

i don't think the frame is the major problem. It is doing its job and highlighting the print. The Problem is the print itself is a god awful colour! Go for a red or purple. A bright colour the way Keith would have wanted it.

its all supply and demand. I have NEVER seen one for sale and im sure non-VIP collectors would love one!
Go for it! great future investment for sure.

true that, I personally prefer the grey one but this thread is about the gold edition....

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by gogolbordello on May 19, 2011 20:40:50 GMT 1, You could possibly get two or three better Banksy prints for the same price as the gold cyw picture But if you really like the image and the colourway It is worth exactly the price that you would be happy & comfortable in paying Because it is you who as to look at it on your wall !! But if you are buying it for a investment or to try and move on to make a quick profit..? Then i would walk away from it because for one reason the person who is selling it ain't going to be green and is going to ask TOP £££££££££s and it might be some time that you will find a return in profit on it if any profit at all GOLD CYW not everybodys cup of tea a bit flash over tack imo.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Deleted on May 20, 2011 3:56:10 GMT 1, There was almost the makings of an interesting discussion on the nature of print value, governed by lack of supply, colour and edition size. Gold's an interesting one, visually inferior to a few more ubiquitous colours, but never openly for sale, does this make it more valuable?

Good point......generally 'accepted' that this is worth more than any other colour purely due to the fact that it would be difficult to get hold of (but not impossible!) but it's not rarer (I think) and the consensus is that the colour's not the most popular - so this should make it worth less, not more than any other edition of 25?
Anyone seen the silver? How do you start a most popular colour pole?

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Warm Gun on May 28, 2011 21:49:49 GMT 1, They have definitely dropped in price in the last few months, no doubt about it. It's doubly strange as all other banksy prints are increasing in price. It's certainly not living up to all the hype it received on this board from certain members.
On the other hand I don't see the 100 edition of grey being a strong colourway at all.
Are you being tongue in cheek when you ask how you will recover from this etched, it was after all a £450 print at source and if you have one, surely you bought it for the image
