Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by craigf on Jun 2, 2011 7:34:22 GMT 1, Yeah, it's a steal at 12,345 a pop. Sounds like a job for Brad and Angelina. Count me out.
I assume you're quoting a dollar price per piece rather than sterling, either that or your maths is way out

why would you think its an inside source? Quick to point the finger at POW again innit
From reading the stories, there seemed to be people with mates in the queue - so its more then probable thats how they got these. Would you spend that sort of money with a seller who has 1 feedback and each print doesnt have a COA?

A valid point JV - I would imagine it's more than likely that 3/4 (for example) were bought from source ie. the Russian mafia or the Peruvian family (!), with perhaps the rest acquired on the secondary market - a set could well sell for a large premium so not a bad tactic (the latter bit anyhow!).

but its not the complete set - its a part set - as there are 11 (inc queue jumping grey) more which they dont have - its like buying some of the soup cans with matching numbers - it adds little of no value if it isn't the complete set

Not sure if putting them into a set is such a good idea.. I can't round myself seing why the set would add a premium.
Normally, it should be the opposite even for tough to find sets (ex : Warhol Marilyn). (I mean if it wasn't released as her portfolio of some kind).
Anyway, set of 10, ยฃ600K which gives a print at ยฃ60K average... Individually some of the series sells for up to ยฃ120K.
Usually, I think people buy sets because it provides a cheaper price average & no premium.
I guess that it's easier for someone to pull ยฃ4K instead of ยฃ3K on a print if they really want it than add premium for a set...

I didn't say it was a complete set JV, I said a set, which I would argue would still appeal to someone who is willing to pay a premium to avoid the hassle and time of buying eight separately on the secondary market...

I can never understand the kind of person who would be willing to queue and buy a print. Why not just buy it themselves and make ยฃ2.5k as opposed to taking cash for doing the hard work? How much do these people typically get paid and are they chosen for their inability to get their heads round the math of the situation?

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by Happy Shopper on Jun 2, 2011 12:32:11 GMT 1, I guess an organised group could all have requested the same number when paying, but would that still have required some inside knowledge? Did we even know there were many so colours when they went on sale? (Then again, as we all know, the queuing in the first place smacked of inside knowledge!)

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by twinkle on Jun 2, 2011 12:45:40 GMT 1, The chances are they are all very low numbered prints and therefore it's very possible to pick up the same edition number if you had enough of your paid people standing in line near the front of the queue. Most of the people at the front were an organised mob, probably more than one mob and strangely they had insider info given the SoHo debacle and the blind eye of the POW bouncers.....I wonder how that happened??!!!!!!!!

It has nothing to do with a Warhol Marilyn set for example with same colors in diferents prints so it looks nice as a set. Here, it's just show off... imo of course.

Q: Wow. How did you get matching numbered prints? Wasn't it a lottery. You must be a heavyweight. 02-Jun-11 A: Hello Just to let you know these set of 8 went on sale in London from pow in December 2010. I' m a collector and been trying to get a full Set of same number only managed to get 6/8 same number. I purchased them from people that actually got them in the que and have been swooping numbers from people on eBay and other sources of sale. It's taken a lot of hard work and money to get these amazing set of banksy prints. Was going to keep them and put them up in art gallery in near future! Decided to sell now as I'm on another adventure. Thanks

I wonder if trying to sell them at this crazy price is the adventure he is talking about. He should go on that tv show where they were selling that wall.
