Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Rolex on Oct 21, 2011 21:41:37 GMT 1, My take on all this boll**ks is that the sort of person that buys in to banksy is the sort of person that likes to share & talk about his/her collection, all publicity is good publicity springs to mind, wouldn't surprise me to see this up for sale next week. I personally would still prefer a light grey 58 edition to this !

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Forbidden Love on Oct 22, 2011 2:18:58 GMT 1, Can't think why else these would not have appeared on our screens before maybe cause some people buy art for their own pleasure, and can't care less about Internet boards, communities and such things?!.. not that Im supporting that, but Im aware that there are a LOT of people like that out there.. especially the ones with lots of funds to spend, and not many questions to ask about it ...
exactly there are people on here who have mad pieces/collections that dont post, some people just like to keep it to themselve, friends, and family. and its their right to do what ever they like. its not greed not to post, there are people who are jealous for not having enough banksy porn viewable, but who cares what you or me have, one persons shit is another mans treasure. do what you want. art is art.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Deleted on Oct 22, 2011 16:25:37 GMT 1, What it looked like wasn't the problem, it was the hand finishing I was interested in seeing. As for Dora, I can't say I blame her not saying. We / they need the VIP's to feed the interest and the hype, and the VIP's want to have something us "normal" folk can't have. why do people have to make things about 'them and 'us' ? The fact is, if you were a purchaser of prints since back in the day... or spend £1000's on A/P's or original works... you would have had the chance to own one. Im pretty certain of that.
Beg to differ on this point. I've been buying at POW since inception of their business (and still do) and don't get any 'special' treatment. I'd say this was reserved for people who spend many, many thousands on original commissions.
I'd say you need to be 'A' list in the real meaning to get preferential treatment.
Am I bitter and twisted? Course I am....

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by mouser on Oct 24, 2011 3:32:55 GMT 1, We / they need the VIP's to feed the interest and the hype Don't get what you mean - how does doing VIP specials generate interest/hype? Does Banksy even need to? Banksy doing VIP specials is a joke - the guy claims to be a street artist so why pander to the rich? Banksy/POW have really lost their way over the last few years imo. Used to be fun collecting Banksy's but now if you're not a VIP, you have to sleep on piss ridden streets in the freezing cold to even get a chance to buy his lordships prints.
A1 brother. Was 100% supportive of POW back in the day, the money arrived and the rules changed. I wonder if the "black list" still exists?

Yeah, what a joke that Banksy still offers people a chance to buy his prints for a fraction of their market price (6-7 times cheaper).
Sorry but who's forcing who to sleep on the piss ridden street? And wasn't there an online lottery release as well?

Well said. As a fan, I personally am happy that Banksy has made it as bid as he has. Now he just plays a little bit by the buyers rules than he used to.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by chambres on Oct 24, 2011 15:40:09 GMT 1, An interesting thread this, I can see both sides of the coin and as someone said its up the the individual if they want to share it or not. The fact we're discussing "VIP" is exactly the reason POW want it. Retaining public interest over the long term is a subtle and difficult PR challenge and keeping things just out of reach keeps us paying attention to their every move IMHO.
For any VIP's out there who have a gallery's worth at home that they like to keep off the internet...If you fancy opening your doors to share a glimpse with someone who just wants to appreciate it (no cameras of course!), Drop me a PM to declare your drink of choice and I'll pop round Very much appreciated!
PS - Gary is a great guy in my experience, nothing but time and respect for the man. We all make mistakes sometimes, lets not be too harsh.

I agree with some but no all. A larger edition say 1000 would help and different locations to buy around the country but that still does not satisfy others from abroad. He has to make a living and pay his staff somehow. There is still a chance of getting one even now just like the national lottery but you have to be in it to win it as the saying goes. Everyone one has their own feelings and you will never cover all bases with this kind of demand. The petrol bomb release went fine in my eyes. I arrived at 7am and worked away with mine at 10.30am. It was well known the date and time so maybe releasing some in other cities may be the answer...
Who knows........

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by boatyy on Oct 24, 2011 17:14:31 GMT 1, the only way for this to work is if he releases free art - that should settle it all...
but wait, come to think of it, he does that - he puts it on the street - all across the globe and often, too...
hmmmmm... and, then sells stuff at significantly below market levels...
and then, gives to charity...
and, seems from time to time, he remembers his friends and family...
the guy clearly just does not do enough...

For me the VLH was the best idea you had to get off your arse to buy tickets which were limited to 20 or something like that, you had a couple of days to get there and they raised some cash for charity its not ideal buts it better imo

My suggestions would be move to London ,and befriend Pow staff buy a big dog, and big friends etc etc etc
